I have been living in a camper with no insulation in Washington state. I needed to stay warm when the electrical would go out in the middle of the night without heat. My buddy in the camper with me has two heated blankets, and two more thick blankets. I literally only have this (relatively) thin blanket. A solidly durable blanket, ridiculously thin compared to warmth, and everything in between. I would've liked a real leather strap thing for it, but I'm not bringing this thing around too much and really wouldn't care if it didn't have it. I would still use this, and still pay this much. Could not be happier with this purchase.

I keep this in my vehicle to use when I go camping, and to keep in case of emergency.I used it last week when I was camping in the high Sierra Nevada mountains in California at about 10,000 feet elevation. It gets cold at night, and my sleeping bag is not rated for colder temps. So, I slept with this wool blanket on top of the sleeping bag, and I was perfectly comfortable, even though it was cold enough for there to be ice on everything by morning.During the evenings while sitting in my folding camp rocking chair the cold air was coming through the fabric of the chair making my backside feel cold, so I spread this blanket on my chair, and sat on it. Very cozy.When I ordered this blanket, I had a little concern that it might have a strong smell, as a few reviewers mentioned. I found that it does have a slight smell, but it's not unpleasant, and not strong. It just has a subtle wool blanket smell that I think is a good, comforting mild smell. When it's rolled up in my vehicle I don't smell it at all. I don't know if it's itchy on the skin because I didn't use it on my bare skin. In general, my skin isn't sensitive to wool, anyway. I've known a couple of people who had wool allergies who would get an itchy rash from using a wool blanket, or wearing wool clothing, but that's not me. I like wool because it's soft, cozy, odor-resistant so it doesn't need frequent washing, and it retains its warmth even if it gets wet.

Great Swiss wool blanket. Using it for hunting and camping. Needed rugged outdoor cold protection. Its not super thick. Rolls up nice and comes with its own leather strap harness to wrap around when ts rolled up and has a carry handle. Meets the functionality I need. The blanket does not smell. Its not super soft wool, but is not abnormally scratchy either. I am 6 ft 1 and 220 pounds and can lay it out and wrap up in it. Its brand new so don't know how durable it is over time, so thats why i gave 4 stars.

This wool blanket is very warm and cozy. So much so, my cats will not sleep anywhere else in the house except on the bed on this blanket!! Is it "itchy", well it's wool, does it smell "funny, it's wool not polyester.

It does shed when you wash/dry it... but it does keep you warm without sweating like a pig.

It seems pretty nice , so nice that I’m kind of worried since this one by being 100% wool It is not itchy which for me is different !The only little disappointment that I have was the color of the strap because I was expecting to be light brown like the one in the advertisement picture but not I thing to go below five starts since I got it with some discount on Black Friday. so yes, it is kind of soft and it doesn’t smell bad at all and technically speaking, it doesn’t have a smell different than any other clothes ! so this is my review and if you see anything different in regard of the quality or anything that might go wrong I will update the review
