Exceeded expectations
Moved my television from a wall position to freestanding at the opposite end of the room. First thing I noticed was the sound needed to be turned up a lot higher for good sound quality now that it wasn't backed by a wall. Also, the sound was actually louder behind the tv than in front of it. Was looking for an inexpensive sound bar to add to the front of the tv when I happened across this amplifier set. This is exactly what I needed and they work great and installed easily. How well did they work - before adding them I had to have the tv on 32 in order to understand people speaking (sounded more like 50 on the backside of the tv). Now I can have the tv set at 17, I do have some age related hearing issues, and hear it clearly and the sound going out the back is now muted. Also, I only paid $15 for these so I felt the price was right as well.

Perhaps having sound-cancelling stippling on its surface is a bad idea?
Doesn't do a thing. In fact, it almost sounds *more* muffled than before, dialogue included. (2013 Sony KDL-60R550A). I wonder if part of the problem is that it sits far enough back because of the thickness of the TV at that point under the down-firing speakers that it's not hitting the curve part right? But in any case, it should make /some/ positive difference and I'm not hearing anything at all. And having a roughed up surface might hide reflections, but it can't be great for sound. Ask a person who installs hardwood floors. Sound echos loudest *after* the floors have been treated and are polished. I will experiment with smoothing out the surface with tape or plastic just to investigate.

Products works, installation materials are a bit lacking
Simple product, and like others have said, I would have spent more money than this, plus time, trying to do the same thing. The product works. My frustration is with the sticky velcro squares that come with it to attach the scoops to the TV. These never hold up for more than a day. Larger strips of velcro, possibly Elmer's or E6000 glued to the tv might be a better answer, and I will need to try that soon. I realize the back of every TV is a little different. "clank" -- I just head one scoop fall now after pressing it back on not 10 minutes ago! I'm glad this particular TV is not hanging on the wall, with possibly photographs or knick-knacks on a console below it! Because they would all be broken by now!

Cheap, simple, and effective.
Actually works. I have no problem with paying $15 for such a simple item .... it's packaged with a commercial label, has an instruction sheet, Velcro tabs, and a couple of alcohol wipes for degreasing before installing the plastic reflectors. It takes only a few minutes to get these attached to the back of your television, so there's not much to it. Well, surprise, these things do exactly what they're supposed to do. They effectively redirect those lousy little downward facing TV speakers so the sound is directed forward, towards the viewer. That makes for a louder and clearer sound, although it doesn’t turn your TV into some super sound machine. You will still be limited by the quality of your speakers and the audio quality of the broadcast. Overall though, there is a noticeable improvement in the listening experience. As an aside, I have tried several sound bars over the years in an effort to improve the clarity of TV audio. While most will greatly improve the bass response and music quality, I have found none that really do much for speech clarity ... regardless of settings. This $15 plastic set does more for that aspect of TV sound than anything else I've yet tried. It's not a miracle, and it won't help much with really muffled audio, but it does offer a significant improvement over the typical stock speaker setup.

Brilliant. Just brilliant!
Amazing. I had expected boost in sound, but wow! Easily installed them with Velcro (comes with set) and made it simple to level them afterwards. (For visually perfect seekers) 😉 It’s tripled the volume level and the sound is crystal clear, whereas before it had a muffled voice quality. I have a 4K smart curved tv, so it wasnt As if the tv speakers were bad. Or was because the sound waves were just going straight down to the floor and because we have carpet... The sound waves were being eaten up. Used to have volume level AT LEAST at 40 to hear tv - up to 80 or higher if there was any background noise. I love this product!!! I installed it in under 4 minutes. When I turned on the tv, with volume level at 16, it sounded like volume level was at 35-40!! Also important to mention that the sound was clear!! Voices heard perfectly. It cleaned up the quality of the sound also! Blown away! So simple, yet what an incredible difference! Product is brilliant.

Velcro fasteners only lasted a few hours
As soon as we received the Amplifier set, we put them on our bedroom TV so we wont have the sound directed throughout the house. I made sure to follow the instructions to the letter even using the alcohol swabs to make sure the TV surface was clean. Once we put them on, we noticed a markedly improved sound in the room, but by late that evening, 1 piece fell off and we put it back on. When we woke up the next morning, both amps had fallen off the TV.
