One side is very course, and the other side fairly fine. The course side does a good job of removing thick calluses without an excessive amount of time and effort, and the other side is good for a smooth finish. This file is more effective than a foot file I had purchased locally several years ago, and I think the abrasive surface on the ZenLiven will remain effective for longer. I found the ZenLiven file to be as described on Amazon. The file does not seem cheap. The seller shipped promptly. I recommend the product, and I prefer it over an electric callus remover I have used.

The file from ZenLiven distributor is great!I think it's currently offered for $8 from a different supplier but the product images say only distributed by ZenLiven...Anyway, the one I got is wonderful. Super effective on my calluses which no longer crack or look gross. I've tried a few other solutions and this knocks pumice stones or metal scrapers out of the water! The suction cup hanging hook is also superb and strong.My only note is that the wood in mine warped and is now quite significantly curved in a twist, when I'm pretty sure it arrived totally flat, so it may not be 100% waterproof treated. I'll update if this ever affects it's performance. I've had it for about a month now in my shower.

My husband had previously purchase one of those cheese grater type foot files, and while he seems satisfied with that, I found it way too rough and damaging to my heels. This file was exactly what I was looking for. I like the sturdy wooden handle, the instructions that came with the file and of course both sides of the file itself. I use it as instructed and found it to be effective and not too rough for my heels. I like that I can hang it up and wash it. I’m very happy with this product.

It's nice looking to have a wooden handle but I'd prefer to have a little more grip.

The heels of my feet take a beating. I am overweight but love to move around a lot and typically enjoy opened shoes. My heels especially in NYC winters are cracked and sometimes painful. Ive used metal cheese-grater types and to be honest even going softly I would experience pain. Since I began using this tool my feet have cleared up a lot of my cracking. I was my feet in the evening, dry them, scrape with this tool then slather organic coconut oil. I place my feet into plastic bags (cut most of the top handles etc off) then I put on thick socks and sleep that way. Have helped my feet tons!

So glad I stumbled upon this product! It is a lifesaver indeed!!!! My left foot produces hard calluses on the ball of my feet. And being that I work 12 hour shifts mostly standing and doing tons of walking, it was getting very hard to walk. My pumice stone has failed to work! So once I received this product today I used it immediately and Thank heavens I did! It filed my quarter size very thick callus easily. So so soo thankful for this foot file! Truly is a life saver especially since I work these next coming 2 days.Don’t hesistate! Buy it!

For years, I went through foot files trying to find the right one - usually the rasp wore off within a few weeks, or just didn't work on my very rough heels. I was able to find a wooden file through a spa, but never commercially. This file is exactly like the ones used by the spa doing my pedicures.It is double-sided with a very rough rasp on one side to remove the tough calluses, and a finer one on the other to smooth the feet afterwards.As an added bonus, the price is less than my spa charged, plus there is a suction-cup hook to hang the file in shower.

Several years ago I purchased a similar file and it finally died. I have looked and looked for a replacement, most are cheap, plastic handles and do not hold up more than a few uses. This file is perfect! The handle fits YOUR hand which makes it easy to use, the file "paper" is securely anchored and works well on callouses, nails etc. I have already ordered another for a Christmas gift . This file is my answer to great foot care.
