Rothco Datrex White 2400 Calorie Emergency Food Ration

Flavour is better than expected; kind of a Graham Cracker taste. Biscuits are very crumbly however, so not easy to eat on the run. But this is the best no-heat/cook/water needed emergency food I've seen to-date. Which is something to keep in mind as many other products are freeze dried which need boiling water. In a sudden emergency you may not have the luxury of clean water or the means to boil it.

I like the packaging. The contents should keep for a long while. I have not tried it as it is for emergency use.

The bars are a lot smaller than I expected, making the whole pack pretty tight, but if they are truly 200 calories each, this is actually perfect for our emergency bug-out bag, not taking up too much space.I haven't opened the package since I bought it specifically for the emergency bag (we live in the area where an evacuation due to wild fires or tsunami is a real possibility), so I can't comment on the taste, but the bars are really fresh (packaged 4 months ago), with 5 years of expiry! So I am really happy with this purchase.

I bought these as a taste test for my upcoming trip and to store in my house for emergencies. I expected it to be dry, hard, stale and gross (like stale crackers). It's not as expected like most "survival" food, it's very soft and sweet. The packaging also includes all application instructions, easy to open and all bars inside are sealed individually. I'm very happy and I will definitely buy these again in the future.
