I originally ordered these mats for my husband, before realizing that we had an infrared grill that gets to temperatures around 700 degrees. After reading the literature that came with the mats, my husband said that we couldn't use them on our grill because the temperature almost always gets above 500 degrees, and the accompanying information cautioned against using them with temperatures that high. When the sincerely nice vendor wrote to ask if I was satisfied with their product, I told him that I had cut them to fit our toaster oven because I hadn't realized our grill was the infrared type that gets much hotter than a regular grill, but that the mats were working fine in our toaster oven. So the vendor graciously sent me another set of mats so we could try them on the grill, and sure enough, they worked great! The temperature initially gets up to 700 degrees, but there is no flame, and any melting would only happen if there was direct contact with a flame.We also noticed that the food cooked much faster with the mats, probably because so much of the heat is 'trapped' underneath the mats. There seemed to be less grease during the cooking, and the cleanup was so much easier using the mats. He sprayed some water on them after removing the food, in order to cool them off before removing them. Once removed, it takes just a couple minutes to clean them for the next grilling. And, by the way, all the grilled meats (chicken, sausage, pork loin, and ribs) contained the requisite grill marks, and were absolutely delicious! We both highly recommend these mats for use with infrared grills.

Wanted to like these so much after seeing the infomercial but the meat just swims around in its own juices and my asparagus rolls away of the grill. I'm trying to reduce the fat on my food so not a good use for me. They are good for reducing the need to clean your grill frequently but I will try another product. Would recommend for grilling other vegetables.

I almost didn't buy this because I read a few bad reviews, but we just bought a new infrared gas grill and I wanted to try these so I went for it. I am so glad I did! Last night I made BBQ chicken breast with Raspberry Chipotle Sauce, cooked over medium heat. This product totally enhanced the dish, beside not having a huge mess on my grill to clean up, the sauce was 'crisped' onto my chicken breast, just the way I like it and even better, since I could not have had the same result over just the grill and what a mess that would have been to clean up. So tonight, I decided to make hamburger patties, and 80/20 blend. I like a well done burger and cooked ours over 450 degree heat. I was worried about this because I had read a review about the grease spilling off the mat and causing a flame up so I watched it carefully. As you can see from the picture, so such thing happened and again, wonderful meal with NO mess - just a perfectly well done, burger with a great char. The residue you see on the photo just shakes off into the trash once the mat cools down and then into the dishwasher to clean. Couldn't be any easier and it will save my new grill much wear and tear!

Did it save my marriage? Did it save my life? Did it save my buns? Have I been saved? The answer to all of these questions is a resounding yes. Life will never be the same again. My grilling has improved hand over fist just because of a simple grill mat. I used to put up with flare-ups like everyone else on earth and then found out about these wonderful mats. They work very well no matter what you cook. I am the new grill master on the block and proud of it! These mats will make you proud to cook and show off. When it's all over, your sad to end all the hooray noise. Cleanup is letting them cool down, taking them off the grill, and wiping them clean with soap and water. There is no excitement like grilling food on these well made, non-stick, mats. If you give these away as gifts, be careful, you will become a BFF. (Best Friend Forever) Happy Grilling!

I received these mats about two weeks ago. It was a beautiful weekend here in Southern California and we had just moved into an apartment complex with a grilling area on the roof. That weekend we went up the roof and broke out the mats to make brunch. I made everything from potatoes, to bacon, to eggs over easy, and even scrambled eggs. I didn't need any grease or oil, the eggs just came right up. Durable and very convenient to wash when done these mats have taken grilling to a whole new level because I can use the grill like a flat top grill you would find in a restaurant. Since then I've cooked fish (perfect), chopped vegetables, sausage and peppers (grilling the peppers and onions next to the sausage), and carne asada. Can't say enough good things about these mats. Other grill enthusiasts were blown away by how well they work. If you love grilling and with summer coming you should; get these mats.

After I received them today, I immediately took them out and inspected them; perfect condition! I then went to work on the grill, and produced some awesome tasting brats that exceeded my expectations for the mats, which was great! A few points that I noticed:The mats do seem to create an even surface of heating rather than the iconic grill lines one expects; this didn't affect flavor or anything, but I would just like to bring this to your attention.The mats maximum temperature of 500 degrees is rather low, and a higher temperature item (ex. Cooking a rare steak) makes this a little unnerving because I don't want them to melt or anything.The mats allow for me to gather the accumulated grease efficiently; this is an awesome (unintended) byproduct of purchasing this item, and I am really glad I have them so I don't have to clean as thoroughly and as often.Cleaning it was super simple; soap and a napkin/cloth removes any residue that was left on it!Overall, I am definitely hooked to this product already and I can't wait to test it with my other foods (I love my grilling), and the prospect of using it in the oven too! I hate cleaning those pans!This is definitely a 5 star product that every grill owner should have!
