My original order was lost, so GK&Co sent one directly from Nepal. DHL delivered it today and boy am I impressed. It was very well packaged, the blade was well oiled and wrapped in cling wrap. Very well protected! The craftsman ship and fit and finish are excellent. I would highly recommend this Kukri Service #1 from this seller.

Just got my knife and I love it however, the handle has several cracks on it.

This is the only knife I've ever owned that kinda scares me a little. Balance, handling, and edge geometry all line up beautifully. It fairly leaps into my hand and the best way I can describe it is that it feels hungry. The sheath is well crafted, secure, quiet, and permits easy carry and draw. The karda and chakmak are somewhat rudimentary, but quite functional and nicely finished. This blade is worth every penny, all the more so considering that it's handmade by people who have been practicing this craft for generations. If this is in fact approved for issue to British Gurkhas, they are well equipped. Edit: I actually used this knife for the first time nearly two months after I bought it (long after the return period had expired), and the results were not good. I had initially intended to keep it strictly as a display piece, but its perfect edge and balance got the better of me and I had to test it, if only gently. Alas, it broke at the bolster after only a few mild chops to a piece of wood. The edge showed no trace of chips or rolling, so I can only assume that it was a fault in the heat treatment at the blade/tang joint (the tang goes all the way through the handle and is peened at the butt cap). All that to say this: should you select this knife, be sure to test it immediately unless you are utterly certain that you will never actually use it. I wish to stress that I have three other kukris by GK&Co. and they have laughed off much harder use than that which broke this one, but no human product is perfect, and you will want to make sure that your knife will stand up to the task while returning it is still an option. It was lovely while it lasted.

It has a solid construction and pretty design. The sheath fits well.

likes made in nepal stamp on it..fit and finish awsome...disslikes not 10.25 blade actually size of the blade is around 9.75 so its roughly a half inch short than the other one ive bought which a true measurement of 10.25...bought for a gift for a friend that liked the one i have....

I was excited to use this knife but I have received rusty blades with low quality that are not Authentic. The blade Quality is not like the advertised image and description. The leather sheath has full Mold and Wooden Handle has chipped. This seller is not an authentic Kukri/khukuri maker. Please be careful before buying a knife from this seller.

I’m very impressed with this. The blade is perfect for camping or chopping vegetation to clear trails, but I especially enjoyed the pamphlet that explains the background of the Gurkhas. The historic background is incredible. I’m very happy with this kukri and happy to know it’s background.

As I understand it, this is a copy of the blade presented at graduation to Gurkhas as a "parade" knife, so it has a high-polish finish and a lacquered horn handle with brass fittings. The blade is 3/8" thick, as many of their kukri in this range are, with slight tapering and flat sides, with a polished 1/2" wide 25 degree edge bevel, making the knife very "meaty" but quite sharp and balanced right at the inner curve. The blade weighs in at 19oz. The sheath is well fit if a bit loose, with a nice leather cover and functional if basic Karda and Chakmak. The lacquer on the grip made it a bit slick as compared to similar models with rosewood handles, which I've found I prefer, but everything is solid and very well fit. One can argue this is a "tourist" version meant for the Western market, but I've seen videos of people putting to to some hard use without issue. Overall a very good value, and a good addition to my collection as I'm rediscovering my appreciation for the kukri.
