The real deal kukuri from Nepal. The largeness of the knife inspires courage and strength. Made from Carbon Steel it holds a sharp edge and it’s easy to resharpen. The scabbard and presentation is very nice and it comes with the traditional two smaller knives a sharpener and a utility knife.Kukuri knives are utility tools used by the Nepalese hill people for various things from gardening/farming to butchering and obviously self-defense. According to their lore it holds a spiritual significance as well. In all, the kukuri is a special knife and we are fortunate to be able to obtain them here. I take mine everywhere it’s heavy but feels right in the hand. I take mine camping and it acts like a small axe cut wood like a breeze.As a former Marine and someone who has extensive knife fighting training, I recommend owning a part of world history. Pick up a book on Gurkhas and read about them and their knives.These knives are an integral part not only of the Gurkhas but the Nepalese farmers and village folk. There’s a reason why the Gurkhas take them to war, they’re serious knives, strong, formidable and beautifully made.

I've owned and used many knives over the years, some good and others junk. I purchased this knife as an addition to our emergency/camping equipment kit having seen one on a survival series show where the participant brought a Kukri in place of an axe, which got my brain going. The knife is obviously hand-made but gorgeous, the blade polished carbon steel, very well crafted and sharp. A pamphlet in the shipping box claims the knife is authentic Gurkha Soldier issue. The blade is stamped made in Nepal. There were no stains or rust, the blade being shipped with an oil coating to protect it from moisture. The spine is a full 5/16" thick and full tang about 10" long. Adding the handle makes the whole just under 16". I have a fairly big hand and the handle suits me well, and due to the design believe even smaller hands could wield the knife. The sheath is crafted from water buffalo hide and is thick and hard and authentic. There is no strap to secure the knife to the sheath which is curious. An issue with the sheath is the belt loop. It is made of leather but has a thin veneer over it I don't understand. Purely aesthetic I guess but a little vulnerable. There are two small blades integrated into the sheath which is kind of cool. but your imagination will have to dictate their use. One is sharpened, the other not but is a flat blade ground to a point at the tip. Both have a 2.5" blade, 4.5" total length and no evidence of being full tang. Total weight of the knife and sheath is a couple ounces under two pounds. If you are a woodsman or simply a collector, I would recommend this knife.

Firstly, I'd like to say how fast this blade came through. The delivery date was supposed to come much later, but lo and behold, it arrived 5 days earlier. For that I'm thankful.Onto the blade itself, it is my first kukhri, but I've owned several knives before this one. It is sturdy and slightly heavy in hand. There's no moving parts, or give in the handle, even when I shake it around a good bit. Appearance-wise, it looks homemade. One side of the bevel doesn't appear even with the other, so if you're looking for something ornamental, this knife won't be what you're looking for. Another thing is that the blade came in quite dull, but it is easy to sharpen and polish. It'd be wise to use a small/handheld whetstone because of the it's curved shape. It also came in VERY well-oiled. A bit excessive, but it'll lose it after a period of use.Overall, I'm proud of this purchase, and if you're looking for a reliable, unconventional machete, this just might be for you. Thank you GK&Co1-year update: Blade is still goin' good. It has some chinks in it, but using the provided Chakma (the small, dull blade) will slightly hone it back. I've had no problems with rust, but be sure to keep it oiled regardless. Though it's not the prettiest of knives, it is certainly reliable. Forever a fan

There’s absolutely nothing authentic about the blades creation! It’s just cheap common iron run through a grinder and lathered up in motor oil. Looks like some kid made it in his father’s garage. The sheath is also cheaply made and terrible. One of the small blades was not even finished. Anyway, buyer beware on this one, definitely not worth $100!
