Puts light where I need it
I use this to illuminate the work piece on my lathe. The magnetic base holds it securely in place on a ¼" steel "L" bracket attached to the lathe. It will slide a bit if I use too much force to bend the light into position. It does take a bit of effort to move the base when the magnet is engaged. The flexible arm, though fairly stiff, allows me to position the light exactly where I need it. The stiffness ensures the light stays where I put it. I did have to tighten the fasteners on the arm both at the base (where it meets the magnetic mount) and at the light head. The light output is just about perfect for its intended use. It is neither too bright nor too dim. The diffuser ensures that it is not a harsh light and that the light is even on the area being lit.

Weak magnet
Will not stick to my 8" jet grinder while running because the magnet is just to weak and falls off. Luckily my grinder is mounted to a steel table so it holds on ok to it. Would be alot nicer if it actually would hold on rounded surfaces like it shows. Lights almost to heavy for the magnet.

Magnet is way too weak
The on/off magnet is just too weak and the neck too stiff to allow manipulation without the magnet letting loose. I have similar magnetic bases for dial indicators that have much stronger magnets. The neck is covered with a very loose plastic sleeve that makes it very difficult to adjust even using two hands; I guess it it is to keep coolant off the flex neck but it is worthless. Where the wire comes out of the neck to attach the lamp head, it pinches the wire and limits the possible movement unless some of the plastic is carved away.I bought this on a half price sale and it isn't worth what I paid. The light is that awful 6500K plus color that has a terrible color rendition. The light is quite bright, reasonably diffused, non dimming, the switch is on the light head, which is nicer than on the cord. The one I purchased had a permanently attached wall wart to plug into a wall receptacle.

Works great!
The capability of the magnet being able to be switched on or off is very useful to me. The light output is adequate for most drilling functions.

Very Good Magnetic Lamp
The media could not be loaded. I normally don’t write reviews but this magnetic lamp actually exceeded my expectations. Assembly was straightforward and only took a couple of minutes. The material quality seemed good (the lamp part is plastic - everything else is metal). The magnetic base is very strong and the gooseneck held the tight bend I put it in (see video). I don’t know how this differs from the more expensive lamps with similar designs but it suits my needs well.

Weak magnet
The magnet wouldn't support the weight of the light. It would barely hang on to the side of my lathe. The vibration from moving the tailstock was enough to make it come off. Returning.

Light works great on bandsaw
The first light did not work. The company sent out out another quickly which works great. It is very bright and flexible with the magnetic mount.Overall pleased so far
