McCormick 30% Less Sodium Mild Taco Seasoning Mix, 1 oz (Pack of 12)

I had never seen the lower salt version in mild in a grocery store, so I was happy to find these on Amazon. My husand HATES heat.I make a burrito filling with them:1 pack spice mix1 pound ground beef, chicken or turkey1 can sweet corn (drain and save juice)1 can black beans (drain and save juice)1 large onion, chpped1 can of flavored or plain diced tomatoes (drain and save juiceUse the juices from cans to add the required water to your mixture.Simmer until the flavors blend (maybe an hour).Check occassionally and add more water if it appears to be getting too dry.

Thisis a great product at much less than supermarket prices. We usually use 1/2 bag for the 1 lb. called for. It goes a long way.

Perfect seasoning blend for my homemade chili! In a rush this packet is perfect as it’s mild and lower sodium! I need to stock up because it’s difficult to find in stores!

Someone wrote somewhere that they used this product to season their refried beans. I tried this, it was a fail. The package says "taco seasoning" and it's probably good for its intended use. Refried beans should not taste like tacos. I was looking for a shortcut. Refried beans, in my opinion, taste best with salt, (as small as possible) garlic, onion, a little bit of chile fire, milk, and a small amount of tamarind paste. For meat eaters, I'd add ham hocks, bacon, some other pork with flavor. Mexican food has dozens of distinct flavorings and it is a mistake to try to use "taco seasoning" to try and create "Mexican food" out of something other than tacos.

Good value for the money. If you use it frequently its a good deal.

Cannot find lower sodium locally. Great taste, don't miss the salt, and love having it in bulk and on hand when I need it.
