The Best Gift I’ve Ever Given My Niece!
VR Chef is the coolest cooking kit for kids that I’ve ever seen. My niece absolutely loved this gift, and she sent me all the pictures of what she cooked and we talked a lot about the food science she learned! The VR experiences are next level I wish this was available when I was a kid!! For any kid interested in cooking or science/VR WHATSOEVER, this is a must-have gift

It was a gift for my muffin
Muffin is my neice and I hope she likes it. She's into learning and loves to cook with my sister. I think it's a great idea and can't wait for my 3 year old to be old enough for his own. Im a chef btw.

Does not work
Basically an overpriced cookbook for kids. Virtual reality dont work for recipes. They don't focus. Terrible waste of money

The cellphone application didn't work, rendering the product useless
I was absolutely furious to discover that, despite having done some research on the product prior to buying it, that I was not the only one to have found that the application that one must install on one's phone to take full advantage of the product did not work! On top of that, I paid extra to have it delivered within three days, for my daughter's birthday. Hence, I paid about $82 for something that is worth maybe $3 at the local thrift shop (i.e. a recipe book with about twenty recipes that I could find online anytime... I already have all of the utensils that we need in the kitchen, afterall!). If the app HAD worked, I noticed that the lenses of the goggles didn't focus together on my phone, despite attempts to adjust them, such that we would have seen a double image anyway. I hope that the company fixes all of these issues, because I think that the basic idea is great!!! Thanks for listening... I fell a little better...

Great to get the kids involved in baking and cooking
9 year old got this for Christmas, he has had fun with it but he doesn’t care much for the VR headset. Cookbook and supplies he uses a lot!

Professor Maxwell's VR Junior Chef Virtual Reality
Professor Maxwell's VR Junior Chef Virtual Reality Kids Cookbook and Interactive Cooking Food Science Learning Activity Set is an interesting set. it uses virtual reality to teach kids cooking. It is pretty cool for kids to learn cooking through this unique way. A pair of goggles is included. You need a smartphone and download an app to get everything set up. The VR part is a bit lacking but considering that it is just for kids, it is not too bad.The set comes with instructions and materials to cook (a spatula, whisk, rolling pin, poach pods, measuring cups and spoons, and even an apron and chefs hat). Since it is about cooking in kitchen, adults need to be with kids to guide them.

Lots of Adult Supervision Required, Fun For Kids
I have been fortunate enough to try a variety of Professor Maxwell’s VR kits. This kit isn’t my favourite, but it is still a cool concept and engages creativity in my children. The kit comes with a bunch of different baking accessories, a detailed cooking activity book and the VR glasses for which a phone is attached. I like the way the activity book is laid out. It has very clear instructions in simple language, it’s colourful and the recipes are laid out from easy to difficult. A lot of the recipes are easy for adults to make, but are great beginner recipes for children. Most of the recipes require the stove top or oven to complete. The app is really easy to work as well. It recognizes the recipe and a professor pops up and starts talking. The goggles fit well on the face, and the kids find them comfortable. The VR experience is a little trippy, but the kids are really liking it. Overall, this is a cool kit. It’s not my favourite out of all the kits they make as this one requires a lot of adult supervision. The kids still find it fun to use.

We love these kits
We are enjoying the professor maxwell kits quite a bit, this one does require a lot more adult supervision then some of the other kits but its a great tool to teach kids. My one girl wants to be a baker and the other always wants to cook so this is perfect for them. You may want to go through it and make sure you have ingredients before letting the kids have it. My girls wanted to get started the second I gave them the kit. The books are well done and not just a paper book its laminated so will last a long time and the instuctions are clear and easy to read. The vr experience is a neat added touch for the kids, though better done when not in the middle of cooking or your phone/tablet may get a bit dirty. These are great kits for birthday or Christmas gifts.
