Love Sew Quilters Clapper (Wood)

I am amazed at how easy and flat my quilt seams press open now. I stopped pressing open when I got a bad burn on my pointer finger trying to press seams open. I highly recommend this product and the quality seems to be very good. There is a very thin layer of wool on the pressing curve but I think with the hardwood piece under it it should last a long time.

Have not used yet, but have watched others use one and I'm sure this will be very helpful to get flat seams on quilt blocks and in the hoop embroidery projects that can be difficult to flatten. This clapper appears well made, arrived timely, packaged well, and in good condition.

For those occasional pieces that require flat seams instead of pressing to the dark side, this tool is perfect!

The product come in very handy. If you are making quilt blocks this is great for ironing your quilt seam it help making great and flat seam. I saw Becky from (Power tools with Thread), and she was doing her quilt block and ironing her seam on the product, and it seen so very easy and not complicated and really help make your blocks easy to connect with flat seams.

Perfect if you have some bulky seams and need to press open to decrease bulk. Easy to use. Size is good too.

This clapper is a very useful tool for sewing and quilting but the construction was not what I expected. The flat piece (table side) was cupped so that only the 2 opposite corners touched the table. The center of the clapper (that part that should be setting directly on the seam) was so badly cupped that I could actually see light from one end to the other when I set it on the table. No way this would lay flat on a piece of fabric to set a seam. Luckily, I have a neighbor with a wood shop so he used his jointer to flatten the bottom. This clapper was also very rough on the fabric side - would have snagged delicate fabrics. Running it through the jointer and then a sander solved this problem as well. The top side with the felt covering works well.UPDATE: Kudos to Love Sew US for reading and responding to customer input. They sent me a message offering a full refund. I'm upgrading the stars to 4 because we all have goofs - the key is to own them and make it right, which they did!

Sooo disappointed. Thought I had found an excellent anniversary present for my wife to take to patchwork sessions. The base is curved so does NOT sit the seams. It did arrive well packaged but in this day and age when every penny counts, the item did disappoint us.
