SWAX LAX Lacrosse Training Ball - Indoor Outdoor Practice Less Bounce & Rebounds

Great weight - less likely to damage fences
I purchased this ball to allow my daughters to throw in the backyard without damaging our vinyl fencing. After two trial runs and afew errant throws, it appears to live up to the task. It is alot more flexible than a standard lacrosse ball, but still throws and catches close enough to one to make it an effective training tool. I would caution against using it by concrete though, as the leather-ish cover does appear to be subject to scuffs - if that matters to you.

Great for practice
Our kids love these. Saves a lot of time, not chasing down balls.

Not a death sphere
I don’t reviewed but this ball was one of those rare times I purchased something and it was everything I ever wanted something to be. Lacrosse balls are basically death spheres when a 6 year old is involved so I was looking for something different to help teach my son. Teaching a kid Lax with a tennis ball seems like it’s more time consuming than necessary due to how light the balls are. I found these Swax balls and they are exactly what I hoped for. They weight the same as a lacrosse ball but are not nearly as scary getting thrown around by an out control 6 year old when compared to the sheer terror a real lacrosse ball creates. Because the balls weigh more than tennis balls my son improved dramatically in catching, throwing and scooping almost immediately. As an added bonus the Swax ball is basically a large stuffed hackysack and because of that it does not roll forever when my son misses a catch. The amount of time this saves the kid from endlessly running after the ball is a subtle yet powerful benefit. The Swax balls make for a very efficient backyard short and long toss. This is the perfect ball for beginners or just people who want to wreak less havoc with a lacrosse ball.

Great for tossing without all of the running after missed balls...
Love this purchase!! Regular balls roll down the block when missed. This one is so much more forgiving when simply playing catch and practicing.

Great for starting out
I am not, and will never be a Lacrosse pro, so I can't say if this is a good way to learn tossing the ball back and forth. I can say that my nephew is less scared of this softer ball, catching it by hand is less painful, and it doesn't travel as far down the road when you don't catch it. I consider those three things to aid in practice enough to be worth the investment.

Very little bounce!
Say your kid just joined a lacrosse league for the first time ever. Now consider that you possibly never knew that lacrosse was a sport until your kid joined a league. Now suppose that this child of yours asks you to practice with them so you buy a bag of lacrosse balls and two sticks and begin attempting to catch and throw the ball. After running around the neighborhood for 8 to 10 miles you finally retrieve the first three balls that you or said child threw and the other failed to catch. This ball doesn’t bounce down the street until it breaks a car window or finally comes to a rest after several blocks. Also, if you are dumb enough to attempt a practice session inside, as am I, then you will appreciate that it will not bounce from one wall to a picture frame on the opposite wall as a real ball would. Does it feel exactly like a regulation lacrosse ball? No. But it is similar enough that for novices like my kids and I, it is just fine. At this point in our skill set we would probably learn from throwing ping pong balls, but the lack of bounce really does make our practice sessions more enjoyable. Our Labrador retriever, on the other hand, finds it downright boring.

BEST solution for Juggling!
I have always messed around with hackeysack balls at work while on conference calls. I found a great youtube video on juggling. Although they recommended some other set (which I tried) it has birdseed inside. I immediately remembered I had one of these. I jumped on amazon and ordered a set! So much fun. Such better quality for just a few more bucks. No chance of dropping these and having them burst open. I have dropped them alot and they hold up awesome. My dog keeps wanting to steal them. If you are wanting to learn how to juggle these are amazing. If your child is looking to learn lacrosse I would imagine this is a GREAT practice ball due to durability.

Great product! No bounce, no lost ball!
These are a must if you have a lacrosse player! They don’t bounce, so you don’t have to chase the ball down the road! Same size and weight as a lacrosse ball, so they are great for training, and practicing at home.

Generally good, but the one I received was defective
I returned the one I received. Normally these are great, as I have a few I have purchased for kids practice. The one I received however had a plastic strap on it like a brand new one would but the entire surface looked like it had been used for months on wet conditions.

perfect weight to practice lacrosse handling without the bounce
Our son is starting lacrosse and wanted to practice his ball handling indoors. the regular lacrosse balls are hard rubber with high bounce. this will give you similar feel without the bounce for indoor.Very durable and well loved.

Must have for little lacrosse players
This ball is fantastic. Great quality. Must have for lacrosse players learning to play the game. It's also much softer than a lacrosse ball for the early days.
