The Art of The Batman: The Official Behind-the-Scenes Companion to the Film

This is a great book, and I really mean that. The illustrations are excellent; especially exciting are the sections on the Batmobile and the gloomy look of Gotham City. However, I am taking two stars off for the condition of the cover. It’s made quite cheaply, and the absurd amount of wrinkles and dimples on both the inside cover and the outside cover make it a return for me. I am hoping that you get a better looking copy than I received! I will update/upgrade my review should the replacement look better. EDIT: The replacement did look better, but still not what I would expect from a brand new book. I am not that picky, but I have bought thousands of books during my life, and they have never looked like this. If there weren’t such differences between the two copies I have perused, I might have thought that the flaws are some weird artistic statement. But there are, and they are not.

Excellent quality binding and pictures. Detailed pictures of concept art and breakdown of gadgets and character designs. I had originally considered taking off a star in this rating due to the pictures looking so dark, but it's honestly the way the entire movie feels. There isn't any bright or colorful scene in the movie making it and the book set a gloomy tone throughout. It works though. Just different compared to other "Art Of" books that might have brighter concept art. It's a well organized book separated into sections for each character or production phase. While there isn't much text, each section has a dedicated portion with details that add insight into the production, characters, gadgets, and my favorite - vehicles.

Durable and bulky! Bigger than expected. Packaged really well and safe. Got as a gift for my husband and he loves it. Really goes into depth about the movie

Amazing book and not too expensive. It is SUPER high quality. The art just POPS and the whole book is just awesome. I have it on my coffee table and people love looking through it. Lots of cool text to read in it as well. I would buy from this company again for sure.

i adore this film so getting this book was a must :) i love the content inside so i do not regret buying it, i just wish i had waited to see reviews on the conditions the book came in. mine was creased on both the top and bottom corners of the spine. it ruined my excitement for a bit but i still treasure this work! i recommend buying this at an actual bookstore and not amazon since books always come with some sort of physical flaws because of the shipping and handling.

This is a pretty standard art book for the new Batman movie. There is a Foreword by Matt Reeves, an Introduction by James Field, a “Who's Who” section, and then seven main chapters. There are a total of about 220 pages. The seven main chapters are : 1 - Vengeance : The Batman 2 – Justice : The Riddler 3 – Honor : Lt. Gordon 4 – Retribution : Selena Kyle 5 – Power : Falcone and The Penguin 6 – Despair : Gotham City 7 – Hope : The Need for a Hero Each section contains behind-the-scenes information about the movie; from comic source material, to concept art, to rough sketches of costumes and vehicles, and more. There are also quotes and mini-interviews from the filmmaking team and some cast members. If you are a huge fan of this movie, you might enjoy reading about some of the inspiration for the scenes and story, and seeing all of the detailed designs behind some of the equipment. Some of the artwork is pretty cool also, though most of it is dimly lit/dark scenes; which makes sense because of the tone of the movie. I personally think the book is okay, but it is pretty expensive, so likely only worth it if you are a mega-fan of this movie.

One of my daughters got this for me. You will definitely love this book if you liked the movie. I always find it fascinating to see concept art work. Get a more detailed look at what you can't always see in the movie. Basically if you're a fan of Batman or this movie. Definitely worth the price and mine arrived in pristine condition.

A great companion book to Matt Reeves’ masterpiece. Chock full of exquisite images and behind the scenes tidbits that will satisfy any Batman fan. Highly recommend!

Fue mejor de lo que esperaba, si te gustó mucho la película este libro es para ti tiene todo lo que quieras saber de la película y muy buenos conceptos son algo obscuros en el sentido que no se ven mucho pero la película a si es y es básicamente como si estuvieras viendo la película pero con sus propios conceptos si llego en muy buen estado si lo llegan adquirir que lo vale por mucho en mi opinión.
