Great for teaching!
My 4th graders have to know that many phrases we use come from Greek and Roman mythology. This book is an excellent way to share stories with them! They also like the pictures.

A fantastic introduction to Greek root words
I purchased this book to help bring Greek Mythology to life in our house during this distance learning time. My kids and I have now read this book twice. I really like the approachable way the myths show how words they know today are rooted in this history. It made learning about Ancient Greece all the lore interesting forboth of my kids.

GREAT book. 10 year old daughter was reading some fiction books about greek myths (Rick Riordan), and I wanted a non-fiction book to supplement the new interest. I read it myself and learned lots of new information. She's read it a couple times and loves sharing what she's learned. Then when she runs into characters in other books, she has a deeper understanding of both the original myths and of how they connect to our language. Very cool.

Great book for reading to the kids
Not only has my daughter learned the root of some of our modern words, but I did as well! The book is filled with numerous short stories of the Greek golden age era about gods, goddesses and and people. Each story highlighting a descriptive term we use today i.e Fortune, genius, narcissist, etc... Giving us the root creation of these words and the fantastic stories that created them. Not only educational but also filled with moral tid-bits and life lessons.Glad I bought it, wish there were more like it.

Interesting, and Good illustrations
This book is attractive, and the information is great for the 3rd and 4th graders I'm teaching. It's a good jumping off place for further vocabulary study.

A Marvelous Book
This may become a habit. Another wonderful book. I read a myth out of it to my 8 year old and 4 year old grandsons this past week end. The 8 year old likes myths (his 3rd grade teacher did an enrichment segment on myths this quarter) so naturally he was interested. The four year old was silent and sat still while I read. Not normal for him. The Furies is a marvelous story. Everyone should read it.

Gifts from the Gods, gift for grandchildren.
I bought two of this book for my grandchildren. The older two are 9 and 8. They loved it. I asked my granddaughter (8) what she thought of the book and she said, It was great! I read it 4 times". A wonderful way to learn the origins of some words that we use often.

Very nice book! Fantastic
Very nice book! Fantastic! I fully recommend you to buy this beautiful book! But the book that arrived at my place was damaged! That's not fair business!I was supposed to receive a perfect undamaged book! I paid for that! I paid for an undamaged book! And the whole process of returning the book is too much demanding and time-consuming! I can't afford to invest more time on this!
