the answer for swamp milkweed for Monarch caterpillars
I'm so thankful for these Water Tubes! I was able to clip swamp milkweed stems, place them in the water filled tubes and inserted them into a soil filled pot, within a screened in habitat inside our home, without having to have an entirely new milkweed plant every time they need new leaves. We could replace whichever ones needed it.

perfect!
I used these while I was raising monarch butterfly caterpillars, to hold up milkweed cuttings. They worked beautifully. I used my husband's drill press to make holders for the tubes, and voila! they don't hold a huge amount of water, so I had to replenish the water as often as twice a day.The lid holes are small, but I cut the plants on an angle and carefully pushed them through. The material is flexible and the holes stretched to accommodate thicker stems. I liked that they held the cuttings snugly.

Great for raising butterflies
I'm using these to keep cuttings fresh to help raise caterpillars. It's been an amazing help! Picking leaves becomes an all day process, and in the Florida heat, they wilt quickly. The floral tubes allow me to feed the caterpillars twice a day and keep the plants fresh.

These work great for my purpose
These work great for my purpose. I put cuttings in them to raise monarch butterflies. Sometimes after the caterpillars eat the leaves I have enough stem to root. Next time I will purchase longer ones because of that. For cut flowers, like a rose this would work great. The tops fit nice and snug. Tops seem to be made of something rubber like. Bottom is hard plastic.

Nice size, good quality water tubes
I'm not a florist, just a gardener who is trying to get rid of the horrid Smilex vine that has started popping up in my flower beds. You fill a tube with Roundup, strip the leaves from the vine and shove the vine into the tube hole all the way. I just did it yesterday, so don't know how long the Roundup will last, but these tubs are nice and big and the pointy end lets you shove them into the ground at any angle to hopefully keep the tube from blowing around and the liquid spilling out. I put the Roundup in the water tube with this product: New Liquid DROPPER - 5 x FDA Approved Silicone and Plastic DROPPERS - 5 ML Pipettes Essential for Candy Molds Gelatin Maker & Gummy Bear Mold - Oils Science Making Crafts for Kids . They worked well. So these water tubes have multiple uses!

OK for thicker stems
I bought these along with 100 long stem roses to give out at a marketing function. They don't break- which is good BUT I was putting roses in these for darn near 3 hours. They seemed to work ok but you have to watch out how much water you put in them. Also, they leak if you use them for thin stems (some of the roses I got ripped off on- they had spindly, thin stems). So, don't put a daisy or pansy in them and you'll be okay.THANK YOU

Worh Great for a Variety of Uses
We have a butterfly waystation as a place to raise caterpillars to become butterflies that then journey south. Differenf butterflies will only lay their eggs on and eat certain plants. We use the tubes to get leaves or other parts of plants and put them in. The tubes hold a good amount of water that keeps the cuttings alive and doesn't leak out, even if laying on their sides. We also use the tubes to save cut flowers for nectar or just for decoration. When summers over, they're also great for fall flowers. We have a lot of the tubes and use them continuously. We very highly recommend them.

No leaking - kept my flowers fresh for multiple days
I used these for the arch and table runners in my wedding where I ordered my flowers in bulk from costco and had friends and family help me load them into the tubes with flower food and water. We had zero leaking and evaporation after three days. Flowers held up. We even cleaned them out after the wedding to use again. The rubber on the lids went right back to shape and didn't leak the second or third time using other occasions. Love them!
