I am not sure why I am being asked to rate the sheerness and thickness of the product.Otherwise, I am very happy with the item. Some reviewers stated that it was noisy. It is a dust collector and some noise is to be expected. I use it in an enclosed space and do not find the sound to be uncomfortably loud and it is easy to communicate with anyone nearby.On another note, I had a small problem when it arrived so I sent an email to customer service expecting a reply in a few days. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a telephone call a short time later. The gentleman explained what he thought was a solution to my problem and told me that he would be available for the next few hours if the suggested fix did not work. He was correct and my unit was working perfectly within minutes. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!So, when the temperature is -30 this winter you can find me in the building behind my house happily doing some woodworking.

This dust collector is actually better than I expected. I just received it and have not yet used it extensively.I like the small compact size. I was expecting the support of the motor/fan/cyclone (bag area) to be the weak point in this design. It is actually entirely adequate and rigid. It is about as minimalist as can be made and yet be strongly built.The sound level was my second concern and while it is not whisper quiet (neither is my shop fan) again it exceeds my expectation. Most of the sound is from the air movement. The hose dampens most of that noise when connected. I can run this for hours and not be annoyed by the sound and sound level. Conversation is no problem with it running ( far better than a shop vac). There is no vibration from the motor or attached fan.I would not build a duct system for this unit. 10 foot hose (or less) and move it around is its design purpose.It arrived with the box a bit massaged but contents were complete and undamaged. Assembly was straightforward with instructions more than adequate. Note: In my opinion the plastic bag is intended to be emptied and used many times. Not a throwaway.Eventually it will need replaced. Two small tabs of tape make attaching the bag child's play.I don't like trick plastic safety switches as they seem to be the weak link in imported shop tools. I have replaced them in other machines. The switch here looks no better than others.All in all, entirely worth the purchase price.

Good value and reasonable performance for a small workshop and intermittent use. Works well with table and cut-off saws. I've used mainly for planing (cedar house trim) and it handles the smaller chips of fine cuts well. However, bigger cuts with bigger chips cause too many blockages in the angled intake and if this is what you plan to do, then you would probably need a bigger unit. A little noisy (expected), so I roll it outside outside under a porch. I've used it for about 10 hours with no problems, just fills up quickly...
