They’re both practicing their reading skills, and nothing made me happier than hearing them take turns reading Dog Man to each other — especially when the giggles kicked in! Every night, we’d end the day with this book, and every night I found myself smiling right along with them. The story is hilarious, easy for young readers to follow, and packed with just the right mix of silly and sweet. Even a month later, they’re still quoting their favorite lines, which tells you just how much it stuck with them. It’s not just a book — it’s a memory I’ll always cherish. My son absolutely loves Dog Man! This was the first graphic novel that truly got him excited about reading. The humor, action, and colorful illustrations keep him completely engaged from start to finish. You can definitely tell it’s from the creator of Captain Underpants — it’s silly, smart, and full of heart. I love that it encourages creativity and reading without feeling like “homework.” It’s a perfect mix of funny and meaningful, with great lessons about friendship and doing the right thing. If you have a reluctant reader or a child who loves comics, Dog Man is a must-have. It’s now a favorite in our house — and we’ve already started collecting the rest of the series!

My 8yr old granddaughter loves this graphic novel. She does her reading homework every day, but hasn’t developed a love of reading yet. This book is one she reads for fun, which makes me so happy. She happily told me all about the story of how a dog and a policeman became Dogman. Yay! I will be buying her more of this graphic novel series to encourage her read for fun. Nice hardcover book. 2nd grade level reading with many creative and fun activities sprinkled throughout the book.
