New life to my Fluval 205
My canister was really starting to make an odd sound. I was worried I'd have to replace it. As it turned out, the ceramic impeller shaft had cracked. This part was easy to replace in less than 10 minutes. Now the canister works and sounds like it's brand new.

What can you say about a shaft assembly part? It Is what was needed and works well. We will purchased this way in the future.

Easy to replace.
If you don't have the tool that apparently comes with the Fluval 20X filter, you can pull the old one out with a hooked screwdriver or awl. The ceramic shaft is rather fragile, so be careful putting the new one in. I replaced mine along with the impeller and the unit is much quieter, and far easier to prime.

Try before replacing your old canister filter
My Fluval canister filter is probably close to a decade old, so I thought that its intermittent problems with stopping were just a sign of its age, and that it was due to be replaced. However, we figured it wouldn't be a bad idea just to try out replacing the impeller to see if that would help, and lo and behold, it did! The filter is as good as new. (PS: you'll need the impeller to go along with this)

Excellent - Fluval 105 acts and sounds like new!
This Shaft, along with a new Impeller and Impeller Cover, made my Fluval 105 act and sound like a brand new unit.Just replacing the Impeller did not help - I needed all 3.

Didn’t fit
While this didn’t fit my 205 it will fit my next size bigger so I don’t have no buys remorse and still would recommend it as a replacement part.

Operation Restored
My 205 filter had become noisey and seemed to stop circulating water at times. I replaced the impeller and shaft (they should be offered as a kit) to restore perfect and quiet filter operation. Don't forget to replace both the shaft and impeller. Mine showed wear after constant operation over the past 10 years.
