How long does the pack last? 3-4 hrs? More?

Hi, thankyou very much for your question. Unfortunately it is not possible to give you exact timing and definite answer. Because this will depend not on the pack, but on the outside conditions. In different parts of the country and different months of the year the length of time will be completely different. But please look at the guidelines below, you may find them helpful towards answering your question. I can say for sure that there are things you can do to extend the period. For example, keeping it inside your lunch box, or cooler bag, and not leaving it under direct sunlight will help. Using it will pre-chilled food will help, because the strength of the pack will not be weakened to initially cool the food temperature. Because you fill the pack with water, it will not last any shorter than normal ice. Actually the polymer inside will EXTEND the period and at the same time will prevent the water from LEAKING and MELTING, this way it will keep your food nice and DRY. I sometimes use ice blocks on my face. They melt in a minute or two. When I use this pack, I can't hold it long enough to see any change, it stays like I've just taken it out of the freezer. I even often run it under water to warm it up a bit. I have left it out overnight and in the morning it was not rock solid (which I didn't expect it to be), but it was still cold. I noticed that the plastic side always feels colder than the absorbing side. Again, during this time it has not been exposed under direct sunlight and the room temperature has been normal. As you are wanting to ship breast milk, I would recommend taking extra care and to check the condition and temperature of the milk before you give it to your precious baby. To optimise the performance of the packs, please: - use them inside an insulating cooler - keep the lid closed to not allow hot air to get in - consider doubling the sheets to increase the cold barrier - separate the milk into different containers, so if you need to take one out, the rest would stay cool inside I hope this helps.
