Offering an exquisite Old Hollywood Art Deco hair comb made from a pair of authentic 1930s - 1940s era crystal encrusted fur clips. Each of the ornate, lacy open work platinum silver tone pot metal settings feature square cut clear crystal rhinestones while the rest of the jewel is completely encrusted with round cut clear sparkly paved crystal rhinestones. These have SO much sparkle (any dark spots in photos are just shadowing). I've mounted the clips back to back on a high quality silver plated hair comb base and added a row of rhinestones (salvaged from an old necklace) down the middle for even more sparkle and interest. This heirloom quality hair comb measures 3 3/8 inches (8.4 cm) by just under 1 1/2 inches (3.7 cm) not counting the teeth of the comb and was designed to stay in place. The jewels have been mounted at a slight angle to the comb base so that the hair can slide underneath the brooch to the top of the comb keeping it secure. (Please note that the metal finish is bright and shiny; dark spots in the photos are just reflections.) The jewels used on this comb are in wonderful vintage condition with all rhinestones present, accounted for, and bright. Though still brilliant with sparkle, the jewels have mellowed just a tad creating that softer authentic antique feel that can only be achieved with age. The hair comb has a lacy, antique Art Deco almost Edwardan feel that just can't be replicated by the new vintage "look" pieces. Why settle for vintage "inspired" when you can have a true one-of-a-kind period jewel?
