Gorgeous photography and well written too.
I bought this for my husband’s birthday and it has been a huge hit. At first he flipped through to look at the amazing photographs — many are truly stunning, and the large size (some are even two page spreads) are very much appreciated. Now he has started reading it cover to cover and is reporting finding many interesting facts. What a beautifully photographed and written book; this author/photographer has done a terrific job. My husband highly recommend a it.

This is a gorgeous and fantastic book! I have a B
This is a gorgeous and fantastic book! I have a B.S. and M.S. in Wildlife Ecology and have worked with raptors on and off throughout my academic career. I love reading books that are heavy on the ecology/biology but also relate it in a storytelling-like manner. In my opinion, it can be quite a bit more fun and also more effective to learn new things this way. Between the great writing and Paul's beautiful, stunning, and A-mazing (not hyperbole here, folks) photos, you will learn about North American owls, how they make their living, and the beautiful adaptations they have to their respective environments (and have fun doing it!). This is truly a great accomplishment. I hope Paul publishes a similar book about more diurnal raptors; I will be one of the first in line to buy it! :-)

... looking off an on during this time for the perfect Owl coffee table book
I became fascinated with owls about 2 years ago and I have been casually looking off an on during this time for the perfect Owl coffee table book. I am extremely pleased to say that I have finally found it with this book. You will be blown away with the gorgeous photography; so many owl pictures! Not only does this book showcase amazing photos but gives excellent information about the different species in the different regions. Bravo Paul Bannick - this book is fantastic & I am very pleased with my purchase.

You can't go wrong with "Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls", for content & treatment!
Read the 5-star reviews of others -- that's what persuaded me, and I have *no* regrets: Here's a quotation from Kristen's 03 Nov 2016 5-star review:"This is a gorgeous and fantastic book! Stunning!
I purchased this book to donate to an owl-themed package and it was all I hoped and more. I did not read the detailed text, but I did look through the pictures and read the captions. The pictures are stunning and the captions hold a lot of information. I'm sure the text would be even more illuminating.

chouette!
