Lionel Battery-Operated Disney Mickey Mouse Express Toy Train Set with Locomotive, Train Cars, Track & Remote with Authentic Train Sounds, & Lights for Kids 4+

Bought this as a Christmas display for my wife (she always wanted a model train and loves to decorate for the holidays - so no-brainer for me). Since we don't have the available floor space during the holidays, our train runs along an elevated 25 foot straight track section on a horizontal overhead beam about 8 1/2 feet above our living room floor. Since accessing the train without a ladder to turn the locomotive on and off when we are ready to run it is challenging in our set-up, I modified the locomotive so that I could control it's on-off power via a single-channel relay-controlled remote control. The remote receiver and it's battery are housed in the side car with wiring running from there to the locomotive. Now we can fully operate the train set from the comfort of our sofa. Wish it played more announcements or music but this train is a lot of fun as-is. I have not had any issues such as car de-coupling problems that others have mentioned. Delay in stopping takes some getting used to since we only run in a straight line but it is easily mastered. Great value.

Product is suppose to contain 24 curved track pieces but only contained 20 curved pieces making track assembly impossible .

My daughter (and husband) love this train! It is so cute! We set it up to run around our Christmas tree. A little worried about it running smoothly on the carpet but so far we’ve had no problems. The cars are well built and durable. I will say that the connectors between the trains could be a little more structurally sound. My two year old wants to touch it, and when she does, it can sometimes come off the track or come apart at the connectors. But, she's two and that's just life with a toddler. :) The sound effects are super cute. It would nice if you could adjust the volume. Super happy with this purchase tho! It’s been a win for our family!

The Lionel Series of ready to play trains are awesome. We have two different sets. It is durable, kid friendly, fantastic remote control with bell, whistle and a couple of voice sayings "next stop north pole," and "next stop mickeys house"I only give it 4 stars because I expected the voices to be Disney Characters like Mickeys voice. But no they are a unknown voice, possibly intended to be Santa? Lionel missed the boat on the audio clips, but perhaps it was a licensing issue with Disney. Too bad. Other than that the train is like the other ready-to-play sets that Lionel produces. Kid friendly, easy to operate for even toddlers as early as 3- 4 years old, and rugged.Sets like these will get more kids interested in trains and model railroading as they grow older.You can not go wrong with the Ready-to-play Lionel sets.

Purchased this for my toddler to see around the Christmas tree, and the controls are actually simple to drive and produce different sounds. I had this up around the tree from Thanksgiving through Kings Day and the batteries lasted during that timeframe. I had this setup on wood floors and didn't have any issues with the train de-railing or coming off the track. The box made it easy to repack and store for next year as well.

The kids are gonna love it

I purchased this a year ago. It worked beautifully. Loved the characters, the sound, all the noises. It’s loud ish, but that didn’t bother us. My family loved it. I pulled it out this year for Christmas, assembled it, and was thoroughly disappointed that it didn’t work.It goes forward a bit then stops. It goes backward a bit and then stops. After it does this a few time. It just stops moving.Of course the warranty was expired and I’m past the return date. This item is too expensive to be a one time deal.Hopefully my husband can take it apart and tinker and fix it so we’ll have another train this Christmas. Who has the money to shell out $60-$100 bucks every Christmas to replace these things?!

We got this train to put around the Christmas tree for our toddler. It was a big hit however, has some flaws. It works well, as long as nothing touches it at all! If anything touches it even slightly, it will derail. Our son loves it which means he wants to play with it and it is constantly falling off the tracks so I am constantly having to fix it. Rather frustrating! The wheeels just sit on the track and move off really easily, sometimes even without little hands touching it. The trains work well and the sound effects are fun. The tracks are plastic and fairly easy to assemble. They tend to stay together too which is good! The connectors between cars leaves something to be desired. They are fairly loose and do not click or snap together so often the cars come apart too. Would have preferred a more secure latch. The cargo bay opens on one of the train cars which is a nice feature however, that also means our son wants to put everything in there and therefore touches it and details it! It’s a decent product for the price, as long as it doesn’t get touched at all!

I bought this product paying 5980 yen on 2022 year and I was planning to buy again for my frens birthday and when I saw the price , I am literally shocked..overpriced..and i am keen to know why its overpriced?

Had one before lasted me 3 years . Looked forward to buying a new one. Out of the box item didn’t work. What a disappointment

Mi mamá quería un tren de baterías que le diera la vuelta al arbolito de Navidad y rodeara los regalos. Encontramos mucho en Amazon y Mercado Libre pero casi todos muy pequeños, frágiles y con acabados muy corrientes. Pero al final encontramos este tren marca Lionel que nos gustó mucho. El tren y los vagones son casi el doble de tamaño que los otros disponibles, tiene hermosos sonidos al recorrer la vía, en el control remoto puedes hacer que avance, retroceda, se detenga, que suena la campana, que suene el silbato o que diga algunas frases em inglés como "todos abordo". Si lo comprar yo te recomiendo comprar pilas recargables ya que usa 3 pilas tamaño AAA para el control remoto y 6 pilas tamaño C para la locomotora. En general nos gustó mucho el tren, llegó muy bien protegido, los personajes de Disney son adorables y cumple con su función.
