Higgins Black Eternal Ink, 2.5 Oz Bottle (44041)

This is the first time I bought and used this ink. And I used it as well with my Parker fountain pens (diluted with water) after experimenting with it. My writing went smoothly, no problems encountered. Thanks. Good product, good price!

I've been trying out various calligraphy inks, and this one has a very good consistency, does not need diluting or canting, and does not bleed through my paper. Additionally, it does not lay too much ink on my dip pen nibs but adheres just enough ink to fill the nib well.

This Higgins Eternal ink works best with dip pens. The ink just isn't dark enough for me. Compared to my other fountain pen inks this one looks watered down and is not very dark.

Higgins eternal ink is such an easy ink to use. It goes on well, rarely feathers when using a moderate to good calligraphy paper and provides a nice black with good coverage. It's not the deepest of deep blacks, but for practice it works well for me. There's no weird smell. I haven't seen any fading with lettering done several months ago. There's never an issue with waiting long lentos of time for this to arrive. I like that you can use it straight from the bottle without needing to dilute it.

This was my number one until I tried Moon Palace Sumi.It's still right up there.I use it often for practice.It doesn't bleed, but sometimes it's not quite as consistent as I'd like. That may be human error, and I just didn't shake/stir it enough, but for now, it solidly my 2nd choice.

Good flow and easy to use.

This is an OK ink (it's very particular about the nib and paper combination that it will work with) at a fair price, but what's going on with the leaky bottles? As other reviewers have noted with their boxes, my box was stained through even though the box was sealed and the top seemed fully tightened.

A tinta é boa (usei em bico de pena; não sei como se comporta em caneta tinteiro), mas não é à prova d'água ou resistente à água como o nome pode sugerir, i.e., "eternal'.

Despite being advertised as compatible with fountain pens, this ink doesn't work very well with fountain pens because it clogs up the feed of fountain pens. I don't think the seller or manufacturer of this ink intended to lie by falsely claiming that this ink works with fountain pens. I suspect the seller or manufacturer simply didn't test this ink thoroughly enough to see if it actually works with fountain pens (which it doesn't).So please, don't buy this ink if you intend to use it with fountain pens. It will end up clogging fountain pens. But this ink works perfectly fine with dip pen nibs. So if you intend to use this ink with dip pens, by all means buy this ink. Just don't expect this ink to work with fountain pens.

Excellent ink for use with a dip pen. Good depth of black and flows well. Also washes off hands.

This is nice ink, not too thick or thin! I use this in Hunt 101 and Zebra G nibs for engrosses (copperplate) script and it writes lovely. Dark black, not waterproof but lightfast so will last a lifetime on paper.

I've tried a wide range of inks, and this is one of the best for my dip nibs. Good deep pigment, flows well out of the bottle (no need to dilute or evaporate).
