Chronicle Books Feminine Wardrobe: Town, Party, Resort

I love this book and the graceful styles. Even though this is translated to English the sizing is pretty limited. Largest size being 36 5/8" bust, 29 1/8" waist, 38 5/8" hip. That being said I think these patterns can work for sizes outside the measurements as they are roomy styles and the patterns need to be traced anyway making it easy to add a larger seem allowance or grade up. Maybe not recommended for absolute beginners due to the patterns needing to be traced and seem allowance added, but I already trace all my patterns and am experienced with Burda Style magazine which requires the same pattern preparation. I do plan to sew some of these designs, but also just enjoy the photos and sewing instructions which are clever in their simplicity.

Take a peek online at the patterns and the dresses: kinda shapeless but overall cute designs. This was my first pattern book and I found the tracing process tedious, but understandable from a materials standpoint. Useful for what it is, and actually I found the sizing ran a bit large, even as a curvier Asian girl.I especially loved the pictures for each step, something missing in a lot of Western pattern intructions.

Years ago, I used to make all my clothing. I accumulated numerous traditional patterns that I only used once, and the patterns look very dated now. I chose this book because the styles are very suitable for my current lifestyle and personality. I want to make clothes that fit me and look like they were made for me. I think this book of patterns will be easily adaptable for personal creativity and great fit.

I thought the English language edition would have upped the sizes of the patters to typical Western proportions. Instead, the largest size is for height up to 5'4", bust 36", waist 29", and hips 38". That roughly translates to a US size 8.Buy this book for the pictures and ideas, but count on creating your own patterns unless you are a short size 8 or below.

There are a lot of great patterns in this book. The artist is very talented in working the patterns up. The book comes with paper patterns. I plan to look for more of these books in the future.

This a delightful collection of dress pattern! Simple smocks with modern twists. I am anxious,to,treat my nieces to a new dress!

This book has some beautiful patterns in. The instructions are quite easy to follow, however the seam allowances are not included on the pattern pieces. So once you have traced the pieces you then have to add on the seam allowance.

There are 7 basic patterns with variations. The shapes are feminine and I like most of them. My first realization was a shirt and the instructions were easy to follow.Amazon delivery always perfect.

I had better stop dreaming about what to make and start stitching!

Beautiful book but patterns are on the small side will have to make larger . Large is 39 chest
