Attracts a variety of birds
I was unsure whether or not to buy this birdseed after reading some bad reviews plus the cost (we can find cheaper feed at the commissary on the military base). That being said, I recently was trying to do most of my shopping from home (staying home during the COVID pandemic). I went ahead and purchased the 16-lb bag and had no issues. I saw no moths, spiders, or webs (thank goodness because I am not a fan of creepy-crawly things). I put this seed out in a different feeder and within a few days I noticed a larger variety of birds coming to visit. We still buy the cheap seed and place it in one feeder, place this fancy seed in two other feeders, and also put out plain sunflower seeds, suet blocks, and peanuts (we also enjoy feeding the squirrels). I am now ordering my third bag of this feed and - so far- have had no problems to report. The bags have been delivered intact (no rips or tears or punctures), there have been no signs of bug infestation, and the birds are quite happy, eating it quickly. We enjoy watching all who come to the "table" to eat together. I do not mind now paying a little extra for what is apparently better seed (according to the birds). The birds know the difference. I usually put out seed in the morning but now I am refilling their feeders throughout the day they gobble it down so fast. Once I open the bag, I store the seed in a bucket with a tight lid. Hopefully, those who try putting out this seed for the first time will not be disappointed. **Update 29 July 2020** Birds still love this seed. Just wanted to put a note on here that the bag is not waterproof. I had a bag stored in my shed (waiting to go into the bucket I described above), and a little rainwater from the old leaky shed roof (pinhole leaks/metal roof) was able to somehow get into the bag. Trust me - you do not want to smell wet, rotting birdseed. I kept wondering what that foul smell was in the shed. I had a very unpleasant surprise when I opened the bag...just about knocked me over. Keep this in mind for storage - either put the seed in a tightly sealed container immediately or make sure it is not exposed to any moisture, as this bag is not waterproof (despite being plastic). I learned the hard way. Next time it will go in the bucket straight after delivery.

This blend brings ALL the birds to my yard! Highly recommend!!
My birds love this blend! It has a large variety of seeds as well as some nuts and raisins thrown in. My window feeder is very active with lots of different birds - house finches, goldfinches, chickadees, male and female cardinals - we literally get hundreds of visits a day. We had those with the old seed but now we are getting new birds we've never had before like blue jays, eastern towner, and nut hatches. It has been so exciting! The bag arrived quickly, it was huge (a great value for the money), packaged well, and seems fresh. No bugs or mold here. Just a ton of great seed to keep my feathered friends happy. As it gets colder here, I definitely need to fill the feeder almost daily. I only wish the bag was resealable like the smaller ones I've purchased. But I still highly recommend it. Note: Like many people, I rely heavily on Amazon reviews before making almost any purchase, online or in brick-and-mortar stores. I am always honest with my reviews. If I love something, I shout it from the rooftops. And if I hate it, I have no problem telling you that too. If you found this review helpful, please click the button below :-)

The birds like it
The birds certainly love this blend. In Southern California, it attracts, finches, robins, sparrows, jays, doves, pigeons, and others I don't know the names of. The feeder we have is of larger capacity, and still it would have to be filled twice a day to keep up with demand. Often there are more birds than the feeder can accommodate at once, so they are waiting in the trees, on the bird bath, structures, etc. If you appreciate birdsong, and enjoy observing avian behaviors, they will come for this.

This birdseed is too good
If I were a bird, I’m pretty sure I’d give this 10 stars. I wanted to get a bird feeder, since my kids like birds, and we don’t normally have a ton of birds around our house, so a “greatest variety” mix seemed like a good idea. We filled our feeder and waited. Then the birds arrived. And arrived. And kept arriving. Birds were everywhere. By the time my husband arrived home from work, our yard looked like a scene from The Birds. The birds ate 2 pounds of birdseed in under 8 hours. Thinking it was a fluke, I filled it again the next day. It was empty in 6 hours this time. The birds were so happy. Not only were the birds happy but squirrels gathered among the birds on the grass to eat fallen seed peacefully together. It was beautiful except for how people began to speed up as they passed our house. The number of birds had reached “frightening.” When they ate 2 pounds of seed on day 3, again in less than 8 hours, I began to realize this was untenable. We would go broke on birdseed. The city was going to cite us because no way this many birds are okay. Our neighbors would hate us. It had to stop. So I switched to the fruit and nut blend. So far so good. I’m not sure we’re getting a fancier class of birds, but we are getting less of them. I filled the feeder this morning and it’s still pretty full. So, birds love this, but maybe too much.

Lives up to the name
We feed a variety of food. Whole corn, cracked corn, peanuts in the shell, black oil sunflower, nyger, suet, peanut butter, and basic bird mix (sunflower seed, cracked corn, safflower, millet, milo) and dehydrated mealworms. This seed mix provides a cleaner mix less red milo and cracked corn however it's more expensive. We however attract a variety and large quantity of birds. Winter we have a 70 plus flock of English Sparrows, a dozen Starlings, 4 or 5 Magpies, a dozen crows, the occasional black capped and mountain Chickadees, Stellers Jay. That's just in the winter, come spring we have a number of migratory birds sometimes in large flocks. They all seem to have a preference and this mix goes over big. So far I've had no problems with insects or mold. Luckily here in the Rockies at 8000 ft we have no squirrels. Deer can be a problem but we bring all feeders in after dark so they only cleanup the leftovers. So much fun to watch especially the Magpies and Crows

Smelled fresh. Birds love it. Will purchase again.

Sad to say that the seed was moldy and clumping up due to moisture in the bag. Had a very obvious mold smell when I opened the package (outside thank goodness). Wish I could return it as I won’t be feeding it to the birds. They deserve better.

When I opened the bag I discovered that the seed was moldy with a very foul smell. At first I thought maybe it was just meant to be like that but then I dumped it all into a large container and realized that it was all clumped together, wet and rotten all the way through. I tossed the entire bag in the trash knowing it would make birds sick if they ate it. I read other reviews after and saw that some other customers had the same experience.

More than half of the bag was soaked, it had this smell of ammonia like urine. It was shocking that this was shipped and felt stolen of $70. The box in which it came, was completely dry and undamaged which shows that the bag was already soaked when put it.

Smells musty and has unknown clumps in it. Mold clumps? Blackbirds and starlings don't seem to be interested and songbirds are pecking at the other near empty feeder. Smells like dirt. Can't return, $42 down the drain.
