I bought this Ulu for my grandson, who is taking a high school culinary class. We're not sure whether or not he'll be able to use it in class but he'll use it a lot here at home. Now, about the Ulu. It is stunning! Absolutely stunning. The way the steel on the blade was folded is almost mesmerizing. I know that may sound weird, but that's how my grandson described it and I agree. The blade is very sharp, which I expected from Damascus steel. The beautiful rosewood handle is positioned for great balance and felt great in my hand. It comes with a leather case that it fits in perfectly and securely. I am so happy I found this knife for my grandson in time for Christmas. The only thing missing is a sharpening steel specifically for Damascus steel so I'm off to look for one.

Beautifully made! It isn't very sharp, but I suspect that it is more decorative than not. It feels great in the hand and is very well made. It's a great gift for the knife collector in your family.

I had made the misfortune of buying a different mini axe from a different company whose ‘axe’ was beyond shoddy and completely useless. As horrible as my first axe was this axe is the polar opposite ! The fit and finish of this ax is beautiful! The Damascus blade is stunning and sturdy. The fit of the leather sheath is very good but could be better (see a previous review addressing that issue). The handle is a beautifully grained wood and fits well in the hand. This ax is worth every single penny. And whoever gets this will be delightfully surprised by its quality!

We live in Alaska & routinely use the native Alaskan ULU knife in our kitchen and wanted to try a different handle for repeated use. This is very well crafted. Much easier to hold than our ULU knife. Uncertain of the wood used to craft the knife. Came in a nice heavy leather sheath with strong snaps and a note for care of the product.
