Great stuff. Especially useful if one did not have ...
These have been illegal for some decades in Texas, where I reside. Sadly.I used to have one in my vehicles back in the early 70's . Great stuff. Especially useful if one did not have power steering whichwas not uncommon in ground vehicles in days of yor.ANyway, I'd love to have one in my truck but don't need a ticket.I did the next best thing. Ordered one and mounted it on my Logitech G27 force feed back gaming wheel.Fracking works great. It looks great, and it feels like it won't break any time soon. Only time will tell.In my case I play a lot of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and have the setting fairly high on the force feed back to try and somewhatmore accurately simulate the amount of force one must apply to the wheel when turning. THis knob helps . Hahaha.ANd it is relaxing. IT has the bonus of reminding me of my youth when people were free to use gear like this. Sigh.As for those of you that might read this in the future. If mounting to a G27 or similar gaming wheel, you will need longer bolts/ screws than what is supplied with the unit, 1.5 inches in length is what I used as that was handy. That leaves enough roomto get the nuts started and by the time you have the clamp properly torqued down there will be a good 1/4 inch to 5/16 or soof thread sticking past the nut. It is not enough thread to interfer with the paddles but one might want to trim I suppose. It takes a lot of nut torque to prevent the knob from slipping on the wheel, enough to really compress the leather a LOT.Do not do this unless you don't mind somewhat PERMANTENLIY leaving impression marks on your wheel. You can't get around that it takes a lot of pressure on the clamp to properly hold this. I found that out after using what I thought was enough pressurebut after using for a few hours the wheel vibration was enough to cause the clamp to slip.Intolerable so I fixed it by applying more elbow grease.I do not know what material the inside wheel rim itself is made of, under the leather wrapping that is. If it is metal there is norisk of breaking, if it is plastic or similar material, there would be risk of fracturing the material when clamping very tightly.SO you have been warned. In my case I detected no breakage as I applied a lot of torque the second time. I realized the risk and took it. As I say, again, if it is plastic inside the wheel be careful, just use enough torque to do the job, rinse and repeat if that is not enough.Oh, and on the picture shown. What you see is one clamp. What you do not see is the unit ships (at least mine did) withTWO clamps. The one pictured and another that has a much wider radius. The one pictured will NOT work, the wider radiusone will (assuming one is attaching to the padded G27 wheel. If Amazon was not so short sighted to not allow users to post pictures anymore (jerks) I'd post a few pics of the device mounted on my wheel. I'll just ad it has two tabs that extend perpendicular to the knob (you can sort of see one in the picture shown on the store page) The way mine ended up mounted the tabs sort of sit ACROSS the wheel radius, as in not directly in linewith the wheel radius as one might think. It has to sit somewhat across the rim, as in one tab along the outside edge, the other tab (in the case here the fat tab) alongthe inside edge. When clamping this provides not only clamp force but anti torque block as the tab edges impact somewhat on the innerand outer edges of the wheel rim.The first time I tried the knob was improperly mounted with the tabs more along the circumerence of the rim and that contributed to the fact it eventually slipped. So, enjoy, and remember, if you use this, you are breaking the law as I'm sure in EUrope it is illegal as well. Beware the virtual cops in ETS2.Oh, and for those of you that are into more serious games like Assetto Corsa or other intense racing sims, if you use this, you may find out the hard way why these are now illegal in most jurisdictions in the USA.Hhahahaha. I'll let you figure it out.

One size fits all
This particular spinning knob has been around as long or longer then I have been (I am 78) and pretty much in the same incarnation since it was first marketed. It was designed for early tractors, trucks and cars. If you remove the lower "strap" with the 1 inch lope completely and put the upper "strap" on the bottom, it should fit virtually any steering wheel. Not with standing replacing the original bolts with suitable length bolts to span the thickness of the steering wheel. The only caveat I am aware of is that the two tabs on either side of the spinning knob that will most likely mar the steering wheel coating. (Such is life) This spinning knob most likely will last forever. The only reason I have to buy a new occasionally is because I switch tractors. I leave spinning knob for the new owner.PS A little trivia. Back in the day they were referred to as suicide knobs. Probably the reason they were outlawed in Texas. :-)

I had to do a work around.
The knob works great. It is a good quality product and it made steering my boat much easier. The only drawback is the diameter of the steering wheel was larger than what to knob could accomotate. I had to beat it with a hammer and bend it with plyers to get it to fit. The knob material is stainless steel, so it wasn't easy to bend. Once that was done, it worked great. When first installed it fit well, however, the steering wheel is padded and after several weeks the padding had compressed therefore necessitating adding a spacer and retightening since it was already as tight as it could be with the shape of the fitting.

I have learning to back sets of doubles for awhile and place the back trailer in a dock door. Its a super trucker thing, lolThis knob makes things alot easier being able to turn the wheel very fast.

Cheap
Not good quality at all, the bearings are terrible, had to replace the screws to fit a normal steering wheel.
