American Fluorescent Steel Industrial/Yard Light 200W 14" Aluminum Reflector

I installed this over the medicine cabinet that extends about 4 inches from the wall. As displayed, this would work if the electric box were centered, but with my install, the box was in the top left section of the cabinet. Well, after an hour at the local hardware store, I picked up several lengths and types of rigid conduit I could use to curve the lamp to appear directly over the medicine cabinet as I wanted it. There were a couple 90-degree couplings and a couple 90-degree long, curving arm. Added a couple of wall clips, and he thing is super solid and looks cool. Kind of an industrial look. And, I used an old Edison bulb to compete the look.

This is a slight variation on the original light that I bought from this company. The first lights had a deeper dish, and that was my mistake on ordering. Both versions were available, and I intended to order the deeper one. I have a use for the two shallow dish version that I ordered so I decided to keep them. No comparison to others I found of this type. Others were much more expensive for a similar product. Reasonable quality considering the price.

Acceptable Price! Shipping on the light was immediate. e-mail customer service is responsive. It'll do until I get a true antique reproduction white porcelian shade yard light like the one you might see over the parking lot of a 1940s country bar, after closing time. You could add that I was very fortunate the outer shade is dark dark green or black which dark shade is what I want.

This Barn Light is just what I was looking for for my old 1920's Garage. I repainted the top Kelly Green like the old Gas Station lights we use to see and the arm I painted Black. The underside was a nice reflective White already. Now it looks like the old Porcelin light. It was easy to instull. I sort of wish they were dusk/dawn sensored, so I added a screw in type with the bulb, works great! You will not be disappointed with this purchase! Julie, Marietta, OH

I read a lot of reviews and found they were all accurate regarding the quality of this light fixture and its applications. The bulb wattage information is a bit unclear, I have seen 200W and 150W listed in the sales information. There is a sticker in the reflector that list acceptable light bulbs up to 200W; I have a 100W standard A19 thread bulb in it and it is working fine illuminating a wheelchair ramp outside my home.

Have to admit that I bought this not as a light but as a mount for a security camera. This makes it less obvious, and protects the camera (an indoor model) from weather while giving it a wide area to view. Mounted two stories up, and the camera power fed through the mounting conduit. It looks very nice there, too.

If you're looking for a vintage look to a garage, barn or work shop light, this is the one to get. It's a fraction of the cost you see doing a conventional search and offers a very similar look with good quality components (ceramic bulb connection........not plastic). Looks great on the workshop and looks somewhat nostalgic.

Can't beat the price. We using 4 of these on our deck of a house we're building. Looks great with the aluminum shingles we are using for the roof and part of the side of the house. We saw the shingles used on a house featured in Dwell magazine. Reinke Shakes is the manufacturer.
