Highly Recommended by Teachers!!
Really great nonfiction readers! I’ve been teaching children to read for 8 years now and just came across this set. These are very engaging and have some repetitive words to increase readers ability to read new words. Excellent resource. This reading teacher highly recommends this set.

Great to start reading
These books have been great for my Pre-K and Kindergartner to start reading. He's been able to work on sight words and recognize words by pictures.

A response to the negative reviews
My review is a response to some of the negative reviews. Some complaints on these readers mention that the books don’t contain decodeable words (words the kids can sound out) in addition to the sight words. For example: “I can exercise.” The sight word is “can”. The word “exercise” may be too long to sound out for beginning readers. My thought is this: The kids are learning the sight word for each book. They are building confidence and even learning vocabulary. This isn’t an opportunity for decoding or learning to sound out words, so if that’s what you’re looking for-these aren’t the right books. I like them because they are establishing confidence in reading. They can use clues from the pictures to decipher the text and they can say the whole sentence on their own without help- while also learning the sigh word that is repeated on each page. We do the same book for a week, and take time at the end of each book to find the sight word on the back page. I would recommend making a word wall to review the sight words you’ve covered. And remember- keep it fun! If this is your child’s first exposure to reading- a big win would be, them learning to love it, and not to be intimidated.

Great beginning reader set!
Great book set for beginning readers! Has 25 books each with. Sight word to focus on, word list in back of book to go over before you read, and a little work book to practice writing each sight word and find the sight word in a list of words. Each page in the workbook goes along with a book to read. The books are nice because the have pictures and are repetitive. For example: the bear can swim, the bear can eat, etc. My 4 year old loves the books!

3 year old can use!
I got these for my 3 year old that had been asking me to teach him to read since a few months ago. I’ve been reading to him everyday since he was smaller and he loves to read. I decided to start teaching him some phonics and he learned to read in like a month maybe. I’m not sure if it’s just because he was eager to learn? I never pressured him to do “work”, I only taught him because he insisted. I got these books because I had seen others, like the BOB books and I wasn’t a fan of the drawings. This one has realistic nonfiction images. My son LOVES them, whenever we are not practicing reading these, I find him trying to spell out the titles with his letters on his own. Some words are not phonetic words and are harder words like “sheep”. We are not exactly there yet but the images help him figure it out. What I do to make sure he’s not guessing the sentences is I cover the image with a piece of paper and have him read it and that way I know he wasn’t guessing. But so far these books are a hit and he loves the little bingo in the end. I just wish the books had more pages and weren’t too repetitive. The first picture I posted is how I usually do a set up for him, we use other items to help it be more hands on and not just “reading” since he’s a kinesthetic learner.

Helps build new reader confidence!
WITHIN MINUTES, my child went from not being able to read to reading short sentences. Please note: this has ALOT to do with him looking at the pictures and "figuring" out what is on the page because it's a lot of repetitive sentences. However, he was SO proud of himself and eager to "read" another one, which has never happened before. He starts kindergarten in this fall, so I am glad to have these in my arsenal to help get him ready. He doesn't care for fictional "Mat sat. Pat sat. Mat sat on Pat" stories. He got bored easily with those. But the real pictures of animals and people and places and things caught his attention quickly.

Great for New Readers
My son loves animals. I got him these books to practice reading. He really enjoys them. There are so many animals to choose from and he enjoys reading the different books. I loved that someone had a non-fiction option for kids early reader books.

As imagens são de boa qualidade, mas o papel é bem "mole", precisa ter cuidado ao manusear.

My 3 1/2 year old loves these. They make him feel like he’s got a reading book like his big brother, and a lot of the words are becoming familiar. I’m hoping this will help for when he starts school in September.
