whisky stones:These Whiskey Stones are actually constructed of high quality stainless steel unlike others on the market which are actual stone and somewhat porous. They do have some sort of liquid inside but I am not sure exactly what it is. Each cube is approx 1" square and 1oz. in weight. Very nicely packaged with 8 actual cubes, tongs. I tested only 3 cubes in a bourbon glass with 2 jiggers of bourbon and the results were phenomenal. Obviously the size of the glass and beverage will determine how many cubes to use. I did freeze the pieces out of the storage tray in a separate bowl for around 4-5 hours. Once they are frozen more time in the freezer is not going to make a difference in how well they perform. This set makes a perfect gift for any bourbon or scotch enthusiast or simply use them as an ice cube replacement for any beverage! Good job on this.

The Whiskey Stones are a great innovation for your serving tray or liquor freezer. Make a Mojito with the stainless steel cold cubes instead of old fashioned water ice. I gave these to my mom as a Christmas gift and she was really excited to try them out. We put them in the freezer for about a day and a half to make sure that they were completely frozen. When I asked her how they were a couple weeks later, she told me that they don't stay frozen for very long.I bought them so she wouldn't have to use ice or anything to water things down. She said it works fine for what she uses them for, but I paid for something that lasts longer than an hour. Especially after being in the freezer for awhile.

Amazing idea...surprised I haven't yet seen this.Basically you freeze the metal cubes and then use them as you would any other ice cubes. They don't melt, and hence don't dilute your drink. That might be a plus...or a minus. I see it as a plus since I want to control how much of a splash of water I add to my bourbon.The cubes are small, hence you can add them to a rather small pour and still get cooling. Perhaps since they cool by conducting away heat from the liquid, and not by adding cold water as well to your drink, they do seem not to chill as much or as fast. But remember: with ice cubes you're essentially drinking the cold meltwater.I tried 'em with some larger amounts of beverage. You can chill a glass of white wine, or even some beer. But generally those liquids, especially the beer, are imbibed at colder temps than you can achieve without an awful lot of these cubes or turning them into slushies with ice. Enough to maybe cool a bit of wine, but we actually found a better use was cooling off some RED wine to a more acceptable room temp. But the nice thing is that you even have the chance to experiment with uses like that; doing this with water cubes would be a total fail.Another big plus for me is that I can use these camping. I have a small RV fridge that can only freeze a very small ice tray, and it does that poorly. And I can't put water into the tray and drive without it sloshing out. So these work great: no water to spill, and I also don't have to worry about polluting my drink with some of the bad tasting water I get on trips.

I really love these Whiskey stones. Even though they are called Whiskey, they can be great for any type of drinks. They are reusable and can be set into a normal ice tray to be frozen. It also comes with tongs for their removal. I prefer this over regular ice cubes because they won't water down my drink. It is also safe as they are FDA approved. They are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Perfect to show off when you have company. I highly recommend this product.
