Impressive
So far, I’m impressed with this Max Burton 6515. It is rated at 1800W. I measured 1755W with my “ Kill A Watt “ meter. That’s close enough for me. I have received NO COMPENSATION OF ANY SORT for my review and I would be the first to tell you if a found a flaw in any product..Areas that could be improved:1) Finer control in both power mode and temperature mode would be nice2) The dial control is a bit finicky. I left a message with customer service to ask about it. They did return my call within 1 hour but were of limited help. Still, I am impressed that they returned my call.3) It would be nice if the power level (“ PL “ mode ) went lower than 500W. Though “ Temperature “ mode can go lower, 500W is just not low enough for some types of cooking. PL 1 is perfect for quesadilla’s. To get lower heat than that, you have to switch to temperature mode..Things I’m impressed with:1) It’s VERY powerful. It brought two cups of room temperature water at sea level in a coated cast iron pan to a simmer after 1 min, 15 sec and to a rapid boil after 2 min, 30 sec.2) It’s nice to be able to get a low, constant and reliable temperature. You have to use “ Temperature “ mode for this but set to 100ºF ( non-probe ), it melted chocolate without burning. I let it run for two hours this way and the chocolate did not burn.3) The case feels very strong and the feet have adjustable height ( screw type ) for stability.4) The case is grounded. For safety’s sake, ALL electrical appliances in wet locations should be grounded..Tips and tricks :.Please, ALWAYS use a GFCI outlet for any electrical appliance in a wet location. The life you save may be your own !.The plug is for a standard 120Vac 15 amp outlet, however, during testing I did see some current draws slightly higher than 15 amps. Even though it will function on a standard 15 amp outlet, I recommend using a dedicated 20 amp run with 10 awg minimum Romex right back to the main panel. That’s how mine is set up and I've had no heat or voltage drop problems with it. Note that my equipment is NOT NIST traceable and is subject to error. I recommend waiting for my final review before purchase.

Results vary depending on size of cookware
For how large this unit is, I expected better performance. My main complaint is that even though the cooktop glass surface is large, the actual induction coil still only seems to be about 5-6 inches in diameter. When cooking with stainless steel cookware with an aluminum core, it's not that big of an issue, because it conducts heat quickly across the cooking surface, but when cooking with cast iron, the center is much hotter than the edges - so cooking more than one steak / filet on it at a time is kind of out of the question. While this is better than most portable induction cooktops (whose coils are only about 4 inches wide), I expected better for something that cost 3x - 6x times as much. For boiling things, it's great and very quick:_My pour over kettle comes to a boil at about 2 minutes compared to 4 and a half minutes on my gas stove. The base of the kettle was 6" wide._4 quarts of water comes to a boil at about 5 minutes compared to 9 minutes on my gas stove. The base of pot was 8" wide. Now the interesting result:_12 cups of water comes to a fast boil at 17 minutes 45 seconds compared to 14 minutes 45 seconds on my gas stove. The base of the pot was 10"Just to make sureI wasn't crazy, I repeated the test and got similar results the second time. So it seems that it's performance can depends a lot on the base diameter of the cookware that you're using. In all, this is a decent unit. The way the glass is mounted can accommodate oversized pots and pans. The turn dial feels great for adjusting levels. When used with the thermometer probe, it's quite accurate and effective within +/- 10 degrees. It's probably fine for most people but I was specifically looking for something to work with my 12" cast iron. I'm considering giving the Vollrath Mirage Pro as it supposedly has a larger induction coil.Lastly, it's built incredibly well - definitely commercial grade. The rubber feet have a little bit of adjustment for leveling. It can definitely withstand more heat than cheaper units before it hits auto-shutoff. In fact. I have yet to hit that mark with a cast iron pan on it.

Temperature has large swings, almost ruined an enameled cast iron pan, at a setting of 125 degrees,
Not much to like about it, was very expensive,

Very disappointing
After using this product for nine months I'm very disappointed and feel ripped off. The unit works, it just doesn't get to a hot enough temperature. I've tried every method, using the preset temps, using the thermometer control as well as the temperature setting. It just won't go above 340 degrees and even then seems to struggle to maintain it. Since we bought this mainly to fry food this is unacceptable. You need at least 350 to 375 to get oil hot enough. Otherwise your food just sits there absorbing oil and doesn't crisp or brown. It works well enough to use for other cooking if you just want to boil water or keep something warm but if I could still return this I would. To make matters worse, the $250 price we paid has dropped to $50. I guess that is about what I would say this worth.

Love it
Couldn't be happier with this burner. Heats quickly, good adjustability on the amount of heat available, temperature control mode works well, cleans super easily, just a solid addition to my kitchen. I wasn't expecting to use it as much as I have, but it's just so convenient.

Best induction cooker yet
Makes my two liter ss pressure cooker the perfect time saver for rice and frozen ground beef. Extremely easy to control. Very powerful.

What I want
As soon as this or another induction burner comes with temperature controls within 1 degree centigrade (or Fahrenheit equivalent) I plan on buying several of them as gifts. Preferably with both bottom of pan and temperature probe. Right now the only one I can find costs about $1500, out of my price range. Thanks, and a reply from the supplier would be much appreciated.

Manufacturer does not honor warranty
Awful temp control and died in less than a year.Manufacturer refused to honor warranty saying "they no longer manufacture this product"! I would not buy anything made by Aervoe ever again. Buyer beware!
