Yes, standard 1/4" - 20 thread fits most camera tripods. You will likely need to do it in the evening when the light is a bit low, so you can see the laser dot better.

Q: Is the magnet full length and have a groove in the center for putting on round pipe?

There are 3 small round magnets that sit in a channel slightly below the surface of the level. It is not V shaped.

Q: How large is the dot at 10 ft.?

I shoot it from ceilings that are 8-10ft down onto floors and I'd say it's maybe an 1/8'' dot that's adequately visible.

Q: does this laser have a tail cap on off switch

Does anyone know how to ask another blooming question? can this measure angles, roof drops, etc. like ft drop over total ft length? or a degree?
