The Best Flour Substitute We’ve Found for Keto
Carrington Farms Lupin Flour has completely replaced traditional flour in our keto lifestyle—and that’s saying something. We’ve tried almond flour, coconut flour, and all the usual low-carb alternatives, but nothing comes close to the texture, versatility, and neutral flavor of lupin. It behaves more like real flour in both baking and cooking, which makes it a total game-changer. We’ve used it for everything from pancakes and muffins to breading and thickening sauces. It blends smoothly, holds structure well, and doesn’t overpower recipes with a nutty or gritty taste like some other substitutes. Plus, it’s non-GMO, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly—so it checks all the boxes for clean eating. If you’re serious about keto or just looking for a healthier flour alternative that actually performs, this is the one to get. We always keep a bag on hand now—it’s become a pantry staple.

Great low carb low oxalate option
This tastes almost like regular flour in recipes. In the past I used almond flour but due to another medical issue had to change to lupin. Tastes better than almond flour in all recipes!!

Good but expensive.
Other than it is too expensive for bean flour, it does work as promised and is a nice admendum to gluten free and low carb flour mixes. It doesn't taste like much, which is good when you want your recipe to taste good and not like beans.

Works great for baking/frying
This Lupin Flour seems to be as good as any I've tried, so far. I use it for baking low-carb bread and for breading on my friend foods- chicken, fish, fritters, etc. I would NEVER use it in anything that is "no bake" because it tastes strongly of raw beans until you cook it. I'm happy with this brand and keep it stocked in my pantry.

Okay alternative
This is an okay flour alternative. It’s better than almond flour in terms of using it in baking but it does have a bean flavor to it. It’s easier to use than almond flour as well. I didn’t mind it much but if you don’t like beans, pass on this. For me, as long as it’s low carbs I’ll use it. It’s a bit expensive for how much you get in my opinion.

A Keto Dream!
OMG! I used this flour along with spices (paprika, onion powder, garlic salt, parsley and white pepper, about half to 1 tsp of each per cup of Lupin flour) and egg to bread pork chops and they came out AMAZING! I’m doing a keto-vore diet and did deep fry them in a mixture of tallow/olive oil and they came out crispy and delicious! Honestly, I’ve deep fried so many things in my life and this was my most successful endeavor. Works really well for deep frying and air frying as it browns and comes out crispy and not grainy or mealy. Haven’t baked with it yet, but am excited for how I can use it for Thanksgiving dishes this year. If you’re low carb/keto GET THIS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
