I always thought writing calligraphy was a matter of skill but I never realized how having the right tools could make it so much easier and enjoyable. This is a very high quality calligraphy kit. The pen is very comfortable and smooth to write with and I like how the ink flows and doesn't smear on paper. The set itself is beautifully organized in a very elegant storage case and will make for a great gift for the holidays. Incredible value for its price!

This pen is worthy of attention especially because of all of the options to choose from, ranging from a thin fine point that leads to very legible writing to a thicker point that creates gorgeous swoops. The ink worked very well without any drips or splotches. The item itself is presented really beautifully.This is a fantastic gift for the holidays for anybody that you know that enjoys writing, and especially for those that you know love a bit of nostalgia in their writing, like letter writers.

Its a beautiful pen and amazing ink not to mention the different tip sizes all even labeled it's just the feather I expected a little more from it, it is just glued in with a hot glue gun and you can even still see the glue....

I am discovering the artist in me with this calligraphy set! The feather makes me feel like I'm writing with grace and I have been able to change the tips easily. Since I am a complete novice I wasn't sure how exactly to fill the quill pen at first however it was as simple as dipping the tip into the ink jar and letting the pen do all the rest! There was no need to press down or do anything else since there is a built in capillary action which makes this set very user-friendly and keeps your work space clean. The pen itself is as light as a feather which keeps my handwriting more free-flowing and light on my wrist. I never knew that was the trick to formal lettering! The pen also holds a remarkable amount of ink at once and does not bleed through regular printer paper, however I plan on using card stock for making lettering gifts for family and friends which will be more durable. The ink jar comes in a nice resealable plastic bag which I thought was a nice touch for storage, however the glass bottle and screw cap are very secure. The festive packaging make this a great gift for the holidays for anyone to learn or continue in their artistic quest for calligraphy and lettering art!

Bought two of these and had issues with both packages. The first one, the metal piece inside the shaft had slipped inside. The second one, when we pulled the tip out, the inside came out with it and it took a lot of work to get the tip out of the metal piece. In the end, we were able to 'work' our way through both issues, but not without a lot of time and effort.Once we were able to get it working, my girls were happy; however, I haven't tried to change tips again (not sure I want to).Overall, had we not had the startup issues, we would have liked them.

This is what I got for my teenager niece for her 15th birthday and she loved it! I honestly liked it so much I got another for my cousin! I really recommend this as a present! It's good quality and a pretty set.

This is a low quality product. The pens do not hold the ink, and some of the pen heads do not work at all. This is very disappointing - it is too much hassle to return a $24 product, so I won't bother, but I also will not use this product. Where can I get high quality quill and ink? Where did Mary Stuart get her quills and ink?
