Perfect gauge
Threw these on my Sterling JP70, and they do what they do. I've always played 10s but with the 7 string, I guess the tension is so much more. When bend a string, it seems to be harder to do, or maybe my fingers need to hit the gym lol. But these have lasted about 6 months already, nice and crisp. I play every day for at least 2 hours and as long as you're not a grub with dirty hands, these strings should last and sound great for a bit.

Review Rating: 5 StarsDate Purchased: 04/08/2024Specification Details- Product: Ernie Ball 7-String Power Slinky Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings- Gauge: 11-58- Material: Nickel-plated steel- Packaging: Element Shield for freshnessAs a guitarist, finding the right strings can make all the difference, and the Ernie Ball 7-String Power Slinky strings have hit the mark perfectly. I've tried various brands over the years, but I keep coming back to Ernie Ball for their consistent quality and sound. The first thing I noticed when I switched to these strings was the bright, balanced tone they produce. Whether I'm laying down rhythm parts or diving into solos, these strings deliver crisp, clear sound that really cuts through the mix. They've got a great feel too—smooth under the fingers, which makes playing a breeze, especially during long practice sessions or gigs. What sets these strings apart is the Element Shield Packaging, which ensures they stay as fresh as the day they were made. I've noticed they last longer than other strings I've used, which saves me time and money in the long run.I appreciate the durability as well. They can take a beating during energetic performances without losing their tone or breaking, which is crucial for me given the heavy playing style typical of 7-string guitar music.Overall, if you're looking for strings that offer professional sound quality, ease of use, and exceptional value, these Ernie Ball 7-String Power Slinky strings are an excellent choice. They're capable of handling anything from jazz to metal and will help you get the best out of your guitar. I highly recommend giving them a try—you won't be disappointed!

Sounds crisp, doesn't break.
I play Death/Black Metal live, and have acidic sweat. Around 2010 I switched from Ernie Ball to D'addario to try the Hex-core, they were great. 2020 on I started breaking strings frequently, once playing with a band I really like, super embarrassing. Switched back to Ernie Ball in 2022, strings last longer and they stopped breaking. Couldn't be happier. Using 9-52g on 25.5"-27.8" multiscale 7 string, standard B.

Good strings.
I heard Kenny Wayne Shepherd used these so I gave them a shot. Personally I like a heavy set of strings usually play something with a wound G string so switching from ULTRA heavy to SUPER heavy was a nice transition. I play blues/rock/country and these strings are nice for that. I leave out the 48 so now I have a pile of 48 strings that I have no use for. Great strings, nice and beefy but easier to bend on the G with the straight steel. Love em, would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic strings at a reasonable price
Sure you can spend more and go to paradigms or other coated strings but I use these and they last a very long time and sound great. Don't notice any difference between these and more expensive strings like elixirs and such although since I never break strings I debate using those to delay onset of rust. But a tremendously great option that will to me always be the bar to beat in guitar strings

Great sound!
I purchased after trying another brand. I was having issues keeping the guitar in tune with thinner gauge strings. Every time I went to drop A tuning my 7-string guitar would not stay in tune until I put these strings on. They sound great and no more tuning issues or intonation issues. I was reluctant on putting on such a big gauge but they fit. I had tried a different brand first that was a little thinner and they did not work well. The standard Ernie Ball's were not thick enough, but having just the heavy bottom end really made the difference.
