Large chucks of paint actually falling off exposing the rusty metal.
I now know what the previous reviewer meant. The paint is actually falling off of the item. The paint is peeling off in large pieces and is revealing the rusty metal beneath the blue and cream faux finish. When I first took the bubble wrap off of the item I could see that the paint had already been falling off in the wrap/box. When I lightly touched one of the cracking areas at the top of the bird feeder a large 2"x3" chuck of paint just fell off. When I assembled the bird feeder my hands were filthy - covered with powder and dust from the item. It almost seems like after the item was manufactured and painted with a faux finish it was left outside for a year or two then wrapped up and sold.
