Great quality, function, and overall fit! Had to order one size up for best comfort in my case.
These are great! Light, thin, and the pockets do not add a lot of bulk like on many cargo style shorts/pants. Even with zippers, these remained functional and light. I recently used these at Disneyland, and was able to comfortably carry a few extra trinkets without feeling bulky or weighed down. The material is similar to a bathing suit, so if you're bothered by that or the "swooshing" sound while walking, be mindful. In terms of size, I originally ordered XL's (my normal size). I'm a 37-38" waist currently. They fit, but were near the end of the elastic stretch at that size. I still wear them, but I later ordered another at XXL (which is a size I've never worn/ordered before), and it was more comfortable overall (though a tiny bit on the loose side). It might just be my particular body build, but it's something to consider if you prefer tighter or looser waistline while wearing shorts.Lots of great color options!https://amzn.to/3RFOY1G

Encourages superhuman efforts in pickleball
Since we old folks in Georgia are irrelevant to most everything except spending on healthcare and playing pickleball, I decided to try yet one more pair of shorts for The Game hoping to find meaning and purpose. I chose the Pudolla hiking shorts. Indeed, I am glad I did.So, what do I need for pickleball? Well, I need a non-constricting fit for my... hmmm... various regions so I can get down ("compress") for the ball. I need a wicking material because we old folks sweat (but don't like to show the world, being genteel about our...hmm...regions). I need pockets because of course we old folks need to carry pretty much everything we carried before we retired; you never know when you will need a slide rule on the court. I need to look suave and debonair, as they say, because we gaze upon each other from the sidelines, as if back in high school. Never too old for fantasy or envy. I need belt loops and elastic because, well, I have a bit of pear shape as some older folks do. And I need a color or two that will faze my opponents and at the same time exhort my partners and encourage me to exert my utmost. (I know. Just liked the sound of the verbs). I chose Superman Blue for my Pudollas, by the way. Obviously.I found everything I needed - everything YOU will need - in these Pudolla cargo shorts. Just about perfect for pickleball 'neath the Georgia sun. Thank you, Pudolla family. Just what the stylish gomer wears to dink thoughtfully.Added almost a month later:Well, I now own 3 pairs of these shorts, and I just ordered a fourth. Yes, like them that much. Yes, they wash great (although I do hang-dry them, not that I know why). They maintain their shape and look through washes, sweat, sunlight, activity, AND the admiring - even envious - stares of my pickleball group. But it is so bloody hot down South, and these shorts are so comfortable, that I bought extra pairs to wear all the time. I don't like that the price changes every so often: sometimes I feel like a chump when I paid more, and sometimes I feel like a great bargain hunter (like today) when the price dropped for a color I wanted. Maybe I should take these prices as a metaphor for impermanence? Should we be Stoics about our shorts?

FOR A PERFECT FIT AND LENGTH
I have a hard time buying cargo shorts. They are either cheap looking, the fabric is too heavy or they are too long. I decided to try these. They are perfect! I am so happy since I don't like shopping in stores where I always end up disappointed. The material is smooth and has the right amount of stretch. I was shocked when I tried them on they are exactly what I have been looking for! I ordered a second pair. I put them in the washer and accidentally put them in the dryer and they didn't shrink. They still fit perfectly.

Pudolla shorts of the same size will vary in fit.
I have a few pair of Pudolla Hiking Cargo shorts. This product of the same size will vary in fit. I am 65 years old, 78 inches tall and 230 lbs. My XL blue shorts were uncomfortable being to tight around the waist while my XL dark grey shorts were satisfactory. I kept the XL grey The XXL khaki appeared baggy through the butt and legs while the XXL light grey did not - being less baggy. The XXL light grey were almost the same cut as XL dark grey. I kept the XXL light grey. Are you confused? It is confusing, so don't assume anything. Be prepared to return stuff. I have backpacked extensively with this product. The ones that fit properly are outstanding active wear. I appreciate the flexibility of the strong elastic waist with belt loops. If you place heavy items (Max iPhone, keys & wallet) in the secure zipper pockets wear a belt. I am grateful to have a Kohls in my town.

It's good for the reduced price that I paid
The material seems a little thin but it's not a deal breaker. It works really well in warmer environments and can be used well with tactical belts. I also conceal carry a compact a lot with these shorts and the pistol's contour is not readily visible. You kind of have to intentionally stare at that spot to notice something is off. If anyone does notice anything bulging in that area, just tell them that you are happy to see them ;)

Good lightweight shorts.
They fit a little loose around the waist. I wear a 38-40 and these need a belt. Not to where they will fall off but after a few hours they'll start to sag. I could go a size smaller next pair and have the elastic hold em up. Overall, a very good quality lightweight shorts.

Outstanding shorts
These are my favorite shorts of all time and I've bought lots of them.To the manufacturer- if you made pants exactly the same, you'd have another winner.Your current pant designs are not as nice as the shorts and dispence with any notion of this "skinny jean high water" type look. It's a miserable failure to what men want in pants.

quick drying and lightweight shorts
I got these for my husband to try on with prime and wasn't sure if he would like them but he actually loves them, says they are comfy and the zippers on the pockets are actually great so he doesn't lose things when he sits even if it is rare that he has a chance to sit. They dry quickly when I wash them and seem to be good quality material.

so good, that i have bought another two
I like shorts that have pockets that allow me to carry my wallet, mobile phone and keys. I also like shorts that go down to the knee and that are comfortable to wear. This ticks all of the boxes and I have already bought two more pairs.
