5 stars - well, 4.5 stars. The only thing I would change (so far - I haven't had these very long), is I would prefer to have a concave shape for the gripper inside the handle (jar opener/ nut cracker section). Why these are better than other kitchen shears I bought (which I am going to review as well). The number 1 reason is that the metal portion of the scissors goes all the way to the end of the handle. I have a couple older pairs of shears that were sturdy - except the handles broke off the metal because the metal did not go to the end. I notice the same thing is probably going to happen to some other newer ones I also bought here that were very inexpensive. I want the scissors to last as long as the metal blades - which I hand-wash to enable them to stay sharper longer.

so far, they cut great, but they are new! Anyone would expect that. Lets see how long they hold their precision cutting alignment, that would be the true test after a few months worth of cutting to see if they are really worth 4 or 5 stars. The feel is comfortable and I can get my fat fingers in the slots without an issue. I paid standard price for these shears.

First, let me admit that I have not used all the features of these shears. There are a few that I am not even sure what they are used for. The shears seem very sturdy and I really like a lot that you can take them apart for cleaning. Overall I think they are a well made product for the price. What I don't like is that the finger holes in the handles are a little small. I have a relatively small hand so that is saying a lot. You have to place your fingers preciously a certain way for them to be comfortable. Another problem with them is the bottle opener and the screw driver like piece on the end of the handles. While they may be useful they are something to stab a finger on if your not careful reaching to the knife storage block to grab the shears.They not super sharp but sharp enough to cause a uncomfortable finger jab.

The quality seems good. I've used them 7 times so far . They just don't seem to be that sharp.Update 11-03-17. Bought a pair of JA Henckels shears and like them much better. They are sharper and more comfortable to use.

I purchased these inexpensive kitchen shears/scissors around the beginning of 2017. I've had them for a bit over 9 months. I don't use them everyday, but I do use them often. I've used them to cut apart about 2 fresh chickens and to cut out the back and flatten 1-14lb turkey. Along with that I've used them to open some packages that use the ridiculously rigid and hard vacuum created plastic packaging.When I first got them, for about 3 months they were quite sharp and cut through those chickens and part of that turkey very nicely requiring just moderate force. However, after what I consider light moderate use and not that often they quickly became quite dull requiring a LOT of force to cut them to cut. Over the past couple of months they even have a tough time cutting light plastic food packages like one encounters with imitation crab meat. Yes, they are THAT DULL.Even at this low of a price I can not recommend them as the pair I received has not fared well at all and in about 6 months of light use they became dull, and at 9 months are completely dull to the point of being dangerous to use on some things, as they require too much force to try and get them to cut. Just like a dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one so too it goes for shears/scissors. I will not purchase another pair. I'll try the competition to see how they are.Granted, these shears get very positive marks. Right now 9/2017 it looks like 4.5 our of 5 stars. That, however, is not my experience. So, either there is great disparity and a distinct lack of quality control in manufacturer, or the high star reviews are not cutting things that are really "heavy duty" in the kitchen. Cutting apart a fresh chicken or even a smallish turkey is definitely "heavy duty", and these shears are advertised as "heavy duty". For me and my moderate amount of heavy duty use shows that they are not ready to play for long term use.

I was very excited to get these new kitchen shears as I have an old pair that I use every day and they are starting to rust. To my surprise, the quality of these shears are amazing! They're really solid and sturdy. Much more so than my beloved old pair. These shears are easy to disassemble so you can give them a good washing. I hand wash mine but I suppose you could put them in the dishwasher too. The color goes well with my kitchen appliances which is nice. So far I used these for cutting paper as well as meat. I even used the little prong on the handle to open an Amazon package. It ripped through the tape fairly well even though I realize that's not it's intended purpose. I would definitely buy these again!

Smooth cuts, easy to clean. Only issue is bottle cap opener is not perfectly functional. Might need to go around the beer bottle a few times before caps come off. Had to wait precious seconds longer before I could sip my beer!

I ordered these shears to help out around the kitchen - mostly to remove fat from chicken and steak. I love 'em!These multi-function shears are well made and sturdy. They are easy to take apart, clean, and then re-attach.The blades are plenty sharp and could easily be used for cutting through other material.The additional tools are good add-ons for the kitchen if you need a peeler, knife or even a screwdriver.I also like the no-slip handles.Overall, a great add-on for your kitchen or anywhere else you need top-notch scissors.
