Fantasy LifeBicycle Bottom Bracket Wrench Spanner For Shimano Shimano Hollowtech II - Mountain Bike Repair Tool

OK, but not precise.
I am giving this a 3 star review because the stamp on it it's not very precise. Just to be clear, this tool will work with the Shimano bottom brackets, in particular the Hallowtech II BBR60. The BBR60 comes with an adapter, that you have to use, unless you have the . The adapter is plastic, so if the tool is not exact it will barely fit on the adaptor and after one use, the adaptor will get slightly damaged. This stool is supposed to be a replica of the Shimano TL-FC36, which will fit on the adaptors that come with the Shimano bottom brackets when you buy them.Anyway, bottom line, I was able to use the tool, but it did not fit perfectly, it was a bit of a struggle. You can watch me using the tool on this video.

Good for casual bike work
Better than expected for the price. I figured this would be good for 1 or 2 uses. Impressively, it has been going strong for months of casual use.

Works best for reattaching the cap on hollowtech cranks
Worked for what i needed. Works best for reattaching the cap on hollowtech cranks. There is just a screw holding in the plastic piece that doesnt allow it to spin freely so i took it off the piece before using. My cranks were initially stubborn so i notched the plastic piece on opposite sides to allow using tools i had layjng around to give more leverage.I would probably recommend the shimano proprietary tools, especially the smaller one with its own nob on the back, though they cost more.

I had to file it in order to get it to fit
It didnt fit the bottom bracket at first (one star). This is a stamped steel product, obviously the stamp was misalligned or dull. Nowhere on the tool does it indicate that it's made of tool steel such as chrome-vanaduim like most of my other tools do. It has a painted finish not a durable tool finish such as nickel plating or black-oxide. If this is a tool you think you will use frequently I would definitely go for something better. Since I'm impatient I went ahead and filed the teeth to the correct shape and was able to install my bottom bracket (plus one star). I get it, its the cheapest one available so steel quality and finish are forgiven but it should at least be functional out of the package.

Just a little too small for BB-MT800
Did not fit the BB-MT800 properly. Shimano provides an adapter with the BB and this wrench is just a little too small for that adapter. The adapter is plastic, so you can force it to squeeze into the wrench, but then the squeezed adapter becomes a little too small for the BB. You can still get the job done by more forcing (I used a rubber mallet), but if this tool was made about 50-100 um bigger it would work a heck of a lot better on the BB-MT800.

Worked well. Tight fit.
Didn’t scratch my allow anodized bottom bracket due to the precession tolerances implemented during the manufacturing of the tool. This was a relief to me as my Bombshell bottom bracket doesn’t have the silver machined grooves a lot of bottom brackets have. Will be using it to install the Chris King ceramic bottom bracket I just purchased for my DXRs. Also used this tool to install the stock BB that comes with the DXRs. That will be coming off shortly as soon as the CK BMX fitment kit arrives with the proper adapters.

Wrench worked with the BB attachment
So the tool itself didn't fit my bbr60, but it fit the attachment that comes with the bb for installation. Takes a little persuasion to get that attachment to actually attach to the wrench. Helped me update my 25+ year old road bike.

Does the job
Works as expected. Made replacing my bottom bracket a breeze. I ding it one star because I wish the crank cap removal end had a bigger diameter. It was a little hard for me to grab with my big hands. The wrench and the knob both did fit perfectly.
