Fantastic Product
I had been buying splits because I can’t drink a regular sized bottle of champagne by myself; expensive and a lot of disposal. This product works great in keeping the sparkling over time servings. So no I only need to buy standard bottles.

Works very well
I ordered this for my wife as she is the wine lover in the house. She has always wanted something to preserve her sparkling wines so she could drink a glass and not need to finish the bottle. She loves how easy it is to use.The only problem we had was the first time getting the topper off as we did not notice the line on the side that showed where the bar needed to be for it to release easily. Other than that kerfuffle on our part it has worked amazingly well.

Enjoy Sparkling Wine by the Glass with a Small Compromise
I recently purchased the Coravin Sparkling Wine by the Glass System, and I must say it's an impressive addition to my wine accessories. I would give this product 4 out of 5 stars. The system allows me to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine without having to open the entire bottle, which is perfect for those times when I only want a single serving. The set comes with 4 CO2 gas capsules and 2 stoppers, making it easy to preserve the freshness of my favorite bubbly. The quality of the product is top-notch, and it's straightforward to use. The stoppers fit snugly onto the bottle, and the CO2 capsules inject just the right amount of pressure to maintain the wine's effervescence. However, I did notice that the gas capsules tend to run out relatively quickly. While this is a minor issue, it can be inconvenient if you're planning to use the system frequently. It might be a good idea to stock up on extra capsules if you're a regular sparkling wine drinker. In conclusion, the Coravin Sparkling Wine by the Glass System is a great product for those who want to savor their sparkling wine one glass at a time. Despite the slightly faster-than-expected consumption of the gas capsules, I would still recommend this product to other wine enthusiasts who enjoy indulging in sparkling wines without having to finish the entire bottle in one sitting.

Finally a Coravin for sparkling wines!
We're avid wine collectors and have had one of the original "version 1" Coravin units for years now. It's been fantastic since it allows us to drink older wines over several days (or weeks) instead of having to drink it all at once.We also like champagnes and sparkling wines but the Coravin doesn't work for that. When I saw this new Coravin for sparkling wines I ordered it without hesitation. The original Coravin works by shoving a needle down through the cork to extract wine and refill it with low-pressure argon gas. That's great for still wines that are under normal atmospheric pressure, but it won't work for sparkling wines.Sparkling wines are under pressure from the carbon dioxide gas (CO2) that's trapped in the wine. When you open the bottle the CO2 starts coming out of solution - this is what makes the bubbles! When the gas is gone the wine has gone "flat" and it loses a lot of what makes sparkling wines special. To preserve a sparkling wine after opening you need to be able to reseal the bottle well enough to hold the pressure from the escaping CO2. Just resealing the bottle can work for a while but the more wine that you drink the more empty space there is to fill up with escaping CO2 and the less wine there is to supply that CO2. It's a losing proposition. Closures for sparkling wines have been around for years but they never manage to keep wine fresh for more than a day or two. Until now. This is where the Coravin Sparkling system comes in. This system not only seals the bottle (that's what those massive caps are for) but it also provides a way to replace the lost CO2 and re-pressurize the bottle. This not only keeps the CO2 from coming out of solution but actually will replace some of the gas that's escaped by "re-carbonating" the wine. The result is that you can keep a bottle of sparking wine for significantly longer than it might with "traditional" sparkling wine caps. Coravin claim up to 4 weeks of preservation but with really good wines I wouldn't take a chance on keeping it that long.and personally wouldn't go more than two. I don't know for sure exactly how long wines will keep because we don't let them sit around long enough to find out!Along with the charger, the set includes a pair of pressure caps, two safety bags (enough for two bottles) and 4 C02 cylinders. The caps fit both standard size bottles and magnums so don't worry about those larger bottles! The safety bags are there for the off-chance that the bottle breaks during pressurization. They said that about the old Coravin too but I've never seen it happen. I guess it could in theory, and this system uses higher pressures so use the safety bags. Each C02 cylinder allows for "up to 7" recharges but this will depend on how empty (and how large) the bottle is - the more space in the bottle the more gas you'll use. It still works out to a lot of bottles! One thing I found is that you really want to keep your fingers out of the path of the retaining arm when opening the pressure cap. Once you lift it past a certain point the arm will snap up suddenly and if your finger is in the way it'll get caught. This doesn't feel very good - ask my thumb how I know this. Our original Coravin has a definite place in the way we enjoy wine. At $400 this gadget isn't cheap, but it does the same thing for sparking wines as the original did for still wines and that means we can enjoy sparkling wines more often than we have in the past. That's a win for us.
