Got myself into a fix and I think the directions for adding water to the brush are not clear and incorrect.. I received the brush set and followed the directions, at least I think I did. Hold the tip end towards the ceiling and loosen the tip by turning counter clockwise. Well, I turned the tip and it would not budge but it's not the tip you are to turn, its the barrel and in my case, it turned clockwise to loosen. So I inadvertently broke the tip of the first brush I tried to use. The seller was more than gracious when I contacted them to see if I could get a replacement for the broken brush and sent me a new kit.. And I was using watercolor markers and then using the brush with water to spread them out and it has worked great for that.

Fall in love with these pens immediately. Much easier to control than traditional brush. Easy to refill. Decent ink control. Will recommend.

I'm a mixed media artist. So when I spotted this item I saw possibilities to work quicker and better. I was not disappointed. I use the syringe to lay down a thin line of watercolor such as on an eyelid. I use the brushes by adding water to the container and working the self-moistening brush against watercolor pencil work. Highly recommended.

I'm undecided. I cant tell if I hate them or not. I originally got them thinking I could some of the thinner inks like speedball or Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks. Now that i've tested them for watercolor cakes I see that they "leak" slightly enough to keep the brush wet. This is ok for some watercolor activities but not all when its unreliable and makes the watercolor wash out unexpectedly. Now I'm not so sure I'd use it with inks as planned, despite the description saying you can use it with inks. Obviously you could use it with liquid watercolor in the barrels, but now it looks like I may need to continue my search for a refillable brush pen suitable for drawing inks as the leak issue is a concern now. The leak isnt huge, however if ink were in the pen there can be a potential waste of ink when squeezing the body will release ink in dripping blobs just like it does water.

Got off on the wrong foot with this set. Beware, despite what the directions say, it is NOT righty-tighty/lefty-loosey! The first thing I did was turn it the wrong way and almost broke the tip! Which was extremely annoying and hard to get past lol HOWEVER once I started using it , it was great! My Pentel waterbrushes release a constant flow of water, making it impossible to do any serious watercoloring. These aquanaut waterbrushes actually do what they are designed to do! They are much more intuitive and responsive, and I'm excited to use them more. I'll update with durability but especially for the price you can't really go wrong.

These are better than Pentel watercolor pens. I would like to buy another set for my India inks. They are awesome. You will love them. The flow is nice and consistent. I love the syringe if u need to travel with them u don't have to worry about refilling them. You don't have to squeeze to hard to get extra water. Buy these with the Pelikan pan set.

I bought this set to try some watercolor painting on my handmade cards. The set comes with three different sized brushes. That to me was a real plus since I have not had much experience with these type brushes. They were easy to fill with water and it was surprising to me how little water is really necessary in using these brushes, of course it would depend on the amount of color you were trying to achieve on your medium. The brushes are surprisingly water tight and do not leak. Flow and amount of water dispensed is controlled by the amount of pressure you place on handle. For me, this was good since I was experimenting at first and not sure how much water I wanted to apply to get the washed-out look I was trying to achieve. The brushes were great for the price. I have never used this company, but what a great product and excellent customer service from the seller. I will look to their store again for future products.

I have several sets of water pens but I bought these to use with fabric starch to assist with quilting applique work. I wanted a separate set for the starch and luckily I bought 2 sets. These are great! Filling syringe makes it VERY quick and easy to fill the pens and the barrels are a great pliability to make it easy to control the flow of liquid. Love,love, love these and will be using the spare set for my travel watercolor set.
