Gaiam Restore Hot & Cold Neck Cradle

I have been fighting a war against fibromyalgia for 20+ years now. I hold all stress and tension in my shoulders, neck and the occipital region of my skull. I have gone to physical therapy on & off throughout the years. The Physical Therapist I have seen for the past few years has used his hands to promote the myofacial release in the bundle of mess in my high neck and occipital region. After a few visits, I can usually have longer periods of decreased, if any, pain for a few days. I refer to him as “the man with the magic hands.” I always keep up with the at-home exercises, but my insurance company believes I should be magically cured for life after a handful of visits, so they discontinue payment for my visits. After about one week, the stress & tension return with a vengeance and I am in tears due to the intensity of the pain. The pain also leads to migraines which leave me completely helpless. I recently began trauma-release yoga. I used a lacrosse ball in my hip area to promote the myofacial release. WOW! I found the lacrosse ball to be more beneficial than a tennis ball. I gently used it on my neck and it felt great. I have used a towel as a cradle in hopes of initiating the release of pain, but it never did the trick. So to amazon.com I came to order lacrosse balls. I began looking at all of the aides and tools to help relieve pain and tightness in my whole body and I found this Gaiam Restore Hot & Cold Neck Cradle. Double WOW!! It brings tears to my eyes when I feel the complete release of pain in my neck & occipital region when using this neck cradle. I have only had it for a few days, but it has helped me so much. I have used it hot & cold depending on my needs. I have also just laid on it when I feel the pain approaching. I may have to purchase a second to share with my husband and maybe another to have on hand if we are in the car for a long period of time, traveling, etc. I hope others find this as helpful as I have. It is hard to fake a smile when it is supported by horrible neck pain.

I bought this product the first time at a CVS as a last minute Xmas gift for my hard-to-shop-for SO. However, when i tried this product for a headache, it was so amazing that I came here and purchased one for myself (he likes it so much that when I kept it by the bed he actually asked me for it back haha!). The U shape is super convenient since i can position the ends either on the knots at the top of my shoulders or at the base of my skull occiput. It has just enough ridges to get in there and massage. It actually hurts a bit when I first lie on it if my headache is bad, but then when I get up, I'm at least 50% better, which is HUGE! This product cut my Excedrin usage to zero. Plus, I didn't know this because I don't think it came with the CVS one I bought, but the one from Amazon comes with a needle so that you can put more or less air in it in order to have as much resistance as feels good. I love it and highly recommend!

This item was very cheap and for the price it is worth it. The process to get it warm is too much trouble so I use it cold...just leave it in the freezer. I do wish that it would stay cold longer, but nonetheless it does provide some relief for my neck.

So simple but so effective. This relieves headaches and tight neck muscles very quickly. It can be chilled or warmed or just used as is. I lent my first one to my daughter and she loves it so much, I bought another one for myself.

I thought it would be really crazy about this thing but I'm rather disappointed in it. I thought it would be softer and it doesn't feel cold after 5 hours in the freeze. Seems it's just got a bunch of little ice cubes rattling around in it that don't even hit the top of it where you you lay on it. The design is wonderful but it doesn't keep cold I'm going to try freezing it overnight and see if it stays cold but I don't think so this ice doesn't even hit the top of it it should have been completely filled with water it doesn't make any sense. I'll give it one more night. I'll probably keep it just for the stretch but an effective cold would be nice since it's advertised as such

I have a difficult time fitting these kinds of devices, this one was no exception. I wished the ball ends had been closer together. They were so wide that the they put pressure in odd places at the side/base of my skull and neck. Was worth a try, and I didn’t find the firmness a problem. No matter how I tried to use it, it was not supportive or helpful for me.

This neck cradle has changed my life. Years ago when I was a yogi, I fell on my neck while doing my daily headstand. Ever since then I have had neck issues and often headaches. I had tried everything from ice to heat packs.. to stretching techniques etc every else just helped but THIS product does wonders.I sleep on it every night and get all the kinks out of my neck. I also roll my neck through it in the bed when I wake up in the morning. I haven’t had a headache in months! I don’t even use heat packs or ice anymore. I ONLY use this. Game changer. I take it a me on vacations. It’s a life savor! Best purchase of 2020.

Really helped cure a headache. I warmed it up, laid down with this under my neck, and it felt wonderful. It did not say on the package whether this can be put in a microwave to warm it up, so I just soaked it in hot water. I also looked for that information on the Gaiam website, and couldn't find it there, either. So, I still don't know if it's microwaveable.

My massage therapist recommended this so I thought I’d try it out. I’ve tried lots of gadgets for my neck and back but my gosh this one works like magic!! The ability to freeze it is a huge perk. I can’t believe what a difference this thing makes!
