B movies, 20th Mid century moviola. What Frank Capra wasn't filming. Sociological snap shot of the rest of America if you weren't going to Washington DC, or considering your wonder life. Entertaining, yes. You are getting "A Farewell to Arms" 1932 B&W Gary Cooper, Helen Hayes so there are a few first rate movies. A good value from Mill Creek the compilers of this festival of b-ness.

I just wish they would have kind of brushed up those T.V clips, I understand that they were old clips back then.

There are few movies in the set that can be considered "classic" and quite a few that aren't "family". Many are violent, quite a few deal with topics such as child abandonment, illegal activities, organized crime, illicit sex, and evading the law. If you are a purist, who likes to see and hear movies in their original state, you might like these. For me, the sound was so scratchy we could barely understand a number of them. The viewing quality was lousy in all of them, even those filmed more recently and in color ,(not many in color). There are some I already had, and they are MUCH better quality than these. Not to say that there weren't any worth watching, especially for the price. And they did arrive on time. However, packaging of the set itself is poor. Each disk is in a paper sleeve so tight it's impossible to get the disk out without putting your fingers on both sides of the disk. All of the sleeves are in one stack, held in place by plastic prongs sized to hold the sleeve, not the disk, which means the sleeves could be easily damaged. If that flimsy paper sleeve is damaged, you have nothing to protect the disk.

I was really looking forward to getting this DVD set! I am happy at the variety of movies, from spies and detectives to the sweetness of Shirley Temple. The movie stars in these DVDs are plentiful, from Gary Cooper to Charlie Chaplin.The DVDs play great and are so enjoyable! I highly recommend this for a great evening of entertainment!

Some movies are just OK and others are real winners. Picture quality is not the greatest but some of these movies are pushing past 80 years old.

Incredible selection. Too bad the quality of the image and sound doesn't meet the expectations.

I haven't watched all the films but most of those I have seen haven't been very good quality, considering they are from Timeless. Having said that THE GROOM WORE SPURS, with GINGER ROGERS and JACK CARSON is the best copy I've seen of this particular film, though the film itself is not one of her best. I also enjoyed A BRIDE FOR HENRY which was also a reasonable print. I suppose for the low price for so many films we can't expect too much and to find a few gems which are not available anywhere else is good.
