Paper Maps give a bigger picture than a cell phone, thank you kindly!
My husband and I love to travel through the back roads of states when we are on vacation. This map book has the hollers and small lanes, as well as creek beds and other natural features to make the journey through American countryside enjoyable and safe. When talking with a local farmer in Frazier Holler, we learned that just a week before our trip the creek had been a torrent of rain water that overflowed creek, submerged the dirt road, and made travel impossible. We put a dot on our map so we can remember this new found friend and share his story when we get home!

Perfect
my local wal-mart quit carrying this & my old one was falling apart. this is perfect if you want to explore - it lets you know how to get there (or out) & type of roads. So much better than a regular road map or GPS.

Tennesse Atlas & Gazetter
This is the usual high quality state map that Delorme publishes. My only complaint is that some of the maps ( page 33 and 34) are, not incorrect, but somewhat out of date. The state highway 840 which now connects I 24 and I 40 is only shown as complete up to just past I 65. I have not examined other places, so that is the only discrepancy I've noticed. Still Delorme publishes great state detailed maps!

A must for traveling
These Gazateers are a must for traveling to a new location, they will point out points of interest on a county level and show you the State and private camping areas, as well as giving you a brief write up on places to see and things to do. It will also show you bike trails, as well as hiking trails that one may wish to utilize. They can be a real must for when traveling to a new state

Exactly what it should be
If you are familiar with Delorme's Atlas and Gazetteer series then you know what you are getting- and this book is no exception. If you are not familiar with them then they are a large set of maps in a book- easy to read and store in your car. However there is a lot more info than a regular road map- everything from boat ramps to topography lines. These are particularly great if you are into the outdoors because of the extra info. Even if you are not into the outdoors these are often the only good maps of small county roads (not so useful for cities however.)

What can't I say about an atlas in this review?
I was unable to fact check this item but blindly trust the publisher based on the recognizable name. To be fair they get 5 stars till I prove them wrong.Didn't need it but I was glad I had it for the trip.

Handy to have
Lots of detail. I enjoy it. I'm no traveling expert by any means, but I can learn a lot around me, and also use a compass to get through the woods (don't try that alone, please).Everyone should have an Atlas of their region, somewhere, and maybe more down the toad for the places you travel to.I do like this one, though.

A Lot of Detail
Whenever my husband and I decide to explore another state on vacation, the first thing we do is look for a Delorme for that state, along with a birding book. Many of our birding books reference these books and they are very detailed. We are not much into electronic gadgets in the car and these are easier to read than folding maps. We now have 5 or 6 of these books and do not travel without them.
