Felt vs mesh
Definitely seems to work better than mesh ones, but almost too well, clogs up twice as fast. I assume that’s a good thing, trapping more junk but thing I prefer mesh. Also much harder to clean. But both are quality made products that do what they are suppose to. Always a fan of Red Sea products, but you pay for the quality.

Perfect socks
Fit great in my sump. Perfect length and easy to clean. Just toss them in the wash and they come out clean every time. Love the price too, these socks go for $9 each at my LFS...

Got a set of 3
Ordered from “petsupplied” and got 3 genuine Red Sea filter socks and I ordered two sets so I got six total. The three pack has a giant bright sticker that says “3 pack do not separate”.

I was worried with all the negative reviews about missing filter socks but took the chance anyways. I ordered 3 sets and received my 9 filters in total without issue and going to order one more set of 3 to have an even 12.

These are great filters they catch a ton of stuff while still having good flow so that they do not back up. The problem is I end up having to change them out everyday because they catch so much detritus.
