Baroque Ornament and Designs (Dover Pictorial Archive)

Great book! I've learned allot of different way of carving!

While filled wit beautiful illustrations I was looking for more of the style shown on the cover. There are several pages that have rather flat renditions of the designs. While they are still beautiful I would have liked the whole book to be more shaded, three-dimensional designs.

One of my all time favorites for firearms engraving -I've run borders (see Dover Book on Borders) into corner elements with astonishing results - and what DO you put on that forward flat area of the Yellow Boy? Or behind or in front of the plate on the 1873 (or even ON the plate)? You'll find it here -- and it will be beautiful!

Great designs, it the quality if the images are pretty poor. Hard to see some of the details...okay, most of the details if you are trying to replicate the design.

While I do like the abundance of different designs, they lack in the quality I need for wood carving. Most of the designs are not usable unless I print it out, then go over the lines with a pen, and then scan them back into a usable format. A very time consuming task. I can see that they were not copied from original artwork.I would not recommend them to any professinal artisan.

not crazy about this one either....most images small and dark...wanted to use for patterns in painting. not quite what I expected

A good book needed for my work. It will inspire me to my sculptures in stone. Ornaments are fantastic. Are the basis for further work.

Many designs of good quality . If you are in any way doing graphic arts and you need baroque than there's no reason to not order it . No text, only graphics .

This is a fantastic book for the money. You will find pretty much every excisting Ornament in there. It is printed on good quality paper and the graphics are easy to read.

Excellent source book, or one could just paste them directly onto furniture!

Very good for it;'s price contains many usefull ornament desings.

The book is a bit thinner than expected, but lots of designs per page to work from so not disappointed
