My Favorite Canned Tomatoes - I Use Them For Everything
I have used these tomatoes for years, both chopped and whole. I have tried many, many brands of San Marzanos and I have never found one that can beat this brand either for quality or price. The flavor and texture are excellent - rich, thick and vibrant. There is no salt so you can season how you like, and there is no calcium chloride (a firming agent) so these break down into a lush sauce when cooked. I use these not only for pasta sauces, pizza sauce and soups, but also for "Mexican Restaurant Salsa". I put one 28 oz can of these tomatoes in a blender with fresh garlic, diced fresh jalapenos and fresh cilantro. A few pulses and you have a thick, yummy salsa with amazing tomato flavor.

What my red sauce has been missing all these years
I love cooking with my wife and we make a fresh pasta sauce quite frequently. I'd buy Roma tomatoes at the supermarket and dice them add spices, etc. However, they never tasted like what you get at a nice Italian restaurant. Then, I asked a few chefs and they said they buy them in cans and you had to get San Marzano tomatoes. I had no idea. Of course, Amazon sells them and I still put my own spices into my red sauce but these tomatoes are sweeter and have nicer texture than even the fresh ones I would buy.I'm not Italian so I can't speak for what one makes at home in Italy but these work great for us.

I always get whole BUT these are very good as chopped
Chopped v. Whole tomatoes...I always get whole BUT these are very good as chopped. It was an error on my part when ordering and found them to hold good flavor. I will now use this brand including chopped version as a pantry staple. I've been cooking for aboutt 50 years now started with fears on the faces of family and friends along with escape plans (hence the locked doors & windows). But now, never giving up and trying new brands I not only became a good cook I wrote a cook book in memory of my mom. So these tomatoes are excellent in so many ways. I use it as a base for marinara. From there by adding chicken with herbs you have cacciyotr. Wonderful.tomato brand use all rhe time and we all clean our plates..

Amazon listings - misleading
Amazon has this exact product available under two different listings with this one being about $4- more. They ARE identical! I don't know how this happens, they are both PRIME eligible, although only this one is available by subscription. These are offered, claiming (by the label) that they are an authentic "e...San Marzano" tomato product, and yet NEITHER bears the "DOP" or "DPO" label of authenticity. It is an Italian import, but probably grown just outside the area designated for "DOP" status OR the producer chooses NOT to pay the fee required to use that label. In any case, I believe it to be a true San Marzano; it's taste and texture hold up to that claim. I use them exclusively in tomato sauces for pasta and pizza and have been very satisfied with the results.

Our 'house' canned tomato
We're regular purchasers of the chopped and the whole tomatoes from Carmelina Brands, and have been overly satisfied with the freshness and quality that comes with each one of them. I'm somewhat hesitant to write a note, because on the off-chance that people actually read it, maybe they'l buy it, and then they'll be thrilled with it, and then the price goes up. I keep a reserved of two cases on hand at all times because the thought of running out of these it not a pleasant one.It may be worth mentioning that I also purchase the Strianese D.O.P. tomatoes (via Amazon) and while these are not the same (ultra-high) quality, they're not priced 2 or 3 times higher, either. If you're a 'foodie', and haven't checked these out yet, don't wait any longer.

Fabulous flavor and easy sauce
Wow. These tomatoes are amazing! Can is easily opened with pop top. Tomatoes are crushed and have a wonderful flavor. Nice red color too. I sauteed garlic and olive oil and added one can. Best spaghetti sauce. I will be a continued customer. Thank you for a great product.

Excellent!
San Marzano are one of only a couple of types of tomatoes that I can eat. I have purchased these a few times, and have always been very satisfied-- good quality and nice quantity to have on hand.

Best San Marzano tomatoes
My go to San Marzano tomatoes. I buy at my closest Italian market but during this pandemic I had to buy here. You will not be disappointed.
