Marvelous!
Excellent gadget. Saved me hundreds of dollars. My 2005 truck only has an AUX input port and that stopped working when my new phone came without a 3.5mm phone jack. Bluetooth does not work with my old radio. In order to get Bluetooth connectivity, I would have had to install a new radio and matching speakers. I could have purchased a Bluetooth adapter to connect the 3.5mm AUX plug into the AUX input, but reading reviews on alternative Bluetooth dongle adapters, convinced me that there are volume and noise problems.I just tried the Belkin RockStar™ 3.5mm Audio with USB-C Charge Adaptor plugged into my AUX in jack and it is providing excellent results. I can make and receive phone calls and the cell phone charges just fine. Streaming music is static free. Liking this solution the best.Pros: It works with the phone set at low to mid volume. Works with my antiquated radio and amplifier. Excellent sound. I would buy another one to replace it should it ever fail in the future. I would recommend it to friends and strangers.Cons: Not free, but a reasonable price.DISCLAIMER: This review was not generated using AI, nor was it part of any sponsored promotion. Loose wiring, becomes unusable after regular use
The wiring near the USB C plug end will become loose on the inside over time and will cause frequent disconnections. You will be listening to something, and the moment you move the phone, the cable bends and the audio is stopped... A very irritating cycle of you trying to bend the cable back just the right way so that the audio plays. It will drive you mad.My fix was to zip tie the cable into a "U" shape, and this has managed to keep me going, it does not interrupt the audio signal any more.Very poor build quality, I would not recommend this USB C to 3.5mm adapter. Made in China, unlike some of the other Belkin adapters I've bought.

Works
Seems to work just fine. I also bought an off-brand import version of this that is just a "Y" of the wires. The block piece on this one is just a little cumbersome and may get in the way for use while walking, hiking, biking, etc. but it should not be too troublesome. I bought this for play in the car, so that's less of a concern for me. I already had a ground loop noise isolator for the car, and I have not tried this item without it, so I cannot speak to any potential interference when used without one. The sound quality appears to be good. Many of these advertise a bit rate and frequency. I do not believe there is anything exceptional to this item in that regard. Craftmanship can be a factor there too though. I have not really tested the limits in terms of sound quality (loud play, complicated songs with lots of bass and/or treble), but so far it plays well.

Heats up easily, doesn't work with USB-C to USB-A even in own brand
I should have sifted through the reviews more. This adapter doesn't work with its own brand of USB-C to USB-A cords, which was the main thing I wanted it for. Please note the Not Charging alert. It can work with USB-C to USB-C, but my main goal was to have a long cord that didn't require using the huge, chunky adapter Apple offers with the iPad Mini Pro. I'm going to give it a bit more of a try, but I'll likely return it due to having a poor transformer and compatibility issues.I'm disappointed, Belkin. Your similar adapter that works with lightning cables is far better. Why did you change the form factor?

Will not charge iPad Pro with some cables.
For my iPad Pro, it would not charge using a USB A to USB C cable. Don’t know if is specific to the cable brand. Charged properly when using the USB C to USB C cable that came with my iPad.

I bought 2
I trust the Belkin brand. I bought 2 of them and straight outta the box one of them wasn't working properly. Plug in the 3.5 and it works. Plug in the power and it stops charging my phone and cuts off the music! Please help me to rectify this issue. I'll be checking out the other one tomorrow. I am really under the weather and want to connect my head to some music and fall asleep!Sincerely,John Houser

Unreliable product, bad warranty process
The adapter stopped functioning after relatively little use. Despite charging more than it's competitors, Belkin has far worse product reliability and an abysmal warranty experience. It took about a month to complete the entire warranty process and Belkin forced me to pay the cost of shipping in order to receive my warranty replacement PLUS the cost of shipping to send my defective unit. A few more dollars and I'd have reached the cost of a new adapter. I intend to avoid the Belkin brand in the future next time I have to buy adapters or cables.
