After my microwave started sparking for no particular reason like I had put metal in there (when I clearly hadn't), I was about ready to replace it. After doing a bit of research, it seemed like the wave shield had deteriorated over time and needed to be replaced. I bought these off of Amazon and it saved me around $100 having to replace the microwave. It just popped in and out so was very easy to install. I measured the old one and this one was a perfect replacement inside. I can't speak to durability but it did fix my microwave right up and see no reason why it won't last a while. My only point of concern would be to make sure that you store it in a flat place where it won't bend or it will be ruined. I got a two pack and the second one was stored in the side of a drawer and quickly snapped in half so it had to be tossed but still $15 for a quick easy repair versus $100 or more for a microwave was a small price to pay.

My mica waveguide cover in my microwave had burnt, most likely because of food or grease on it. The replacement covers from Kitchenaid are between 30 and 50 dollars. Having an appliance repairman come out to do the replacement will run over $100. These mica sheets are cheap and there is enough to make 4 covers. It is easy to cut with an x-acto knife and it only takes about 5 minutes to cut one to size and replace the old cover. I just used the old cover to trace the shape and hole locations onto the new mica sheet with a pencil. I can't recommend these enough.

It’s a very simple product and if you’re looking to buy one you already know what it does. It replaces a failed piece on my Whirlpool built-in microwave. The replacement fits perfectly and no issues. Great that it comes with two in case the part fails again.My primary problem is that it came in a super thin plastic bag. I’m all for reducing packaging but since the product is basically a metallic covered cardboard, it would have been very easy bend, which would have resulted in having to return and re-order. Not fun when you’re trying to get your microwave back up and running. Also the packaging and product is so light that after delivery, it blew into my neighbors yard. If you order and show that it’s delivered but you can’t find it, it might have blown away!

Worked great to fix the microwave. Thought it was going to explode, I guess it even had a little fire. Replaced this and saved hundreds by not needing to replace microwave. Now it works great again.

It is important to have the measurements of the old wave guide pretty precise before you order the replacements . We have a Paderno microwave that was only a few years old. We really like the quality of this microwave. While warming up some frozen fruit one morning got a lightning flash coming from inside the microwave warming area, buzzing/humming noise for a couple of seconds like something was shorting out, and when I opened the door there was a slight smokey smell. Did a bit of research and decided to try replacing the wave guide. It was looking a little discoloured. We bought these from Amazon. Perfect fit. We have been using the microwave now for over a week since we installed the new wave guide and there has been no problems. Hopefully that was all it was. Just a new wave guide needed. The new wave guide from Amazon was easy to install (matter of seconds) and all is good so far. Very pleased we did not have to go out and spend another $200+ on a reasonably good quality microwave to replace this one. Nice change in todays world to find an affordable fix to ease your day along a little bit. I would certainly recommend trying this solution if you run into a similar type of encounter while using your microwave.
