These are actually pretty nice stakes, the problem is the head will bend if you try to drive them in soil with rocks or roots, for soft to meduim soil these work very well. They are light and come in a nice reclosable zip lock type bag, I'm sure they will last many seasons as long as I don't drive them into frozen or rocky ground or don't try to drive them through a tree root. Sand, I don't know about, probably hold unless there are high wind conditions.

Good. But if you have hard ground the heads break off easy

These 9-inch stakes are a welcome upgrade from the ubiquitous 7-inch versions, and offered at a reasonable price (at least when I bought them). These longer stakes work well in soft to moderately firm soil, but you still have to take care not to pound them too hard into rocks or solid tree roots or they'll bend. I like to use them with smaller tents on the windward side of the tent, to give a little better holding power than the shorter stakes offer, and on the sheltered side of larger tents, where you don't need such a strong hold (with longer stakes on the windward side). The supplied cord loops are a nice touch, making it easy to see and pull your stakes when it's time to go. Many suppliers don't include those cord loops, but I think it's a good investment to add them if they aren't included, so you're less likely to lose the stakes (because you can see the bright loops, and they make a good handle for pulling the stakes from the ground).

These are every bit as good as the aluminum stakes that come with pricy tents, and if you're still using those round wire stakes with the bent over top, get these instead. You won't regret it.The red color also makes them easy to spot so you don't leave them behind.

Thought these would feel and look stronger than stock tent stakes, just a step above.

Decent stakes at a good price for what I needed, which was Christmas decoration tie tie downs in sandy Florida soil. Worked great for that. Have not used for actual camping and pounding into hard soil to know how durable they are.

Incredible! I just got back from my first camping trip with these new stakes. I'm very impressed. We pitched the tent on some very hard soil. The stakes took every blow of my hammer without showing any sign of odd bending, etc. Went into the soil firmly and securely. Great product to replace the cheap shorter stakes that came with the tent. I only wish they came with a stuff sack as my existing one only fits the 6" old stakes. Nevertheless, these are a 5-Star product. Also -- despite being longer giving me a deeper secure anchor point -- they are 2 grams lighter each than the old stakes. So I have improved my tent pitching and made my pack just a slight bit lighter -- all for under $10. Every gram counts. :-)
